They all ‘live‘ happily together in the same universe :> they are creatures who died but were reincarnated by the stars! As such they get magic powers- but these come at a cost. The more magic they use, the more “corrupted“ their soul becomes. It’s already strained from being reincarnated, and using magic makes it worse. Some of them see it as a blessing, and others as a curse. If they lose their soul completely, they become a giant space monster aka black hole
