Been friends for a while, sort of, they're always causing problems together but at the same time always trying to make the other look like an idiot. It's a love-hate sort of friendship for sure, Sho is actually more overall harmful than Rou, who's at least actually a working member of society while Sho doesn't really want to do the typical work expected of him.
Karam is his most recent student coming to him for further understanding of shard. His last student (Ari) was one of his best and so he has heard Karam many times ask about Ari, specifically his skill level in comparison to his own. He knows exactly what is going on and the competitive nature of Karam, but refuses to feed into it and treats him the same as any other student, even if he recognizes his potential. He has a feeling if he gives him too much of what he wants he will never improve as a person.
He's his teacher, specifically teaching him in shard. He has high respect for him and aspires to have the same skill as him one day. Can be a bit needy of attention and praise from Ciar and seems to dislike any other student Ciar takes on. Wanting to be his best student, at any cost. Yes... at any cost.
Right when Ari was finishing his training with Ciar, Karam appeared to learn from Ciar too. As the former best student of him, he was almost immediately declared Karam's rival, and though he didn't ever agree to this, every time he visits Ciar he has to deal with Karam challenging him. He finds him annoying, too into himself, and in his own world. He needs to get back to reality and also stop calling him his rival because he's not. He doesn't have any interest in such a thing.
He knew from the moment he saw him and knew he was Ciar's best student that this was his rival, and someone he must defeat at all costs. He sees Ari as a rival worthy of respect, but also as someone who needs to fall. Though Ari never seems to appreciate his attention and time he's spending on him, much to his irritation.
Jan used to hang out with Shoji, and Toshiyuki could tell right away that it was more than two boys his age just doing crazy, but harmless stuff. It was thanks to him that Jan is the person he is today, and he would never take it back, since Jan may be a troublemaker but a harmless one at least. Unlike Shoji, who he really wishes would stop blaming him. He would prefer to pretend Shoji doesn't exist.
Toshiyuki is the one who stole Jan away, so he'll keep it short and simple. He really hopes he dies in a pit somewhere someday soon. Someone who is far too mature for his own good.
They've never truly gotten along, while Jan is a harmless troublemaker, Shoji is far from harmless. Jan used to hang out with him plenty until things started to go too far and he "abandoned" him according to Shoji, and he never looked back. Toshiyuki was the reason he started to realize the damage he was doing.
Jan is a traitor, and therefore he really doesn't like him, or his "new" friend Toshiyuki. He thinks Jan forgot how to have real fun, and Shoji never really grew up past their high school days. Still just as much of a problem to the people around him as ever, if not worse. Fortunately hasn't killed anyone yet, probably.
Reiko allows him to work at her shop, he just needs to not end up feeding the customers the real eyeballs. He's always careful about that, she's the only one giving him a job. He's not in the mood to lose it.
Runs the shop that Rou works at, doesn't mind his antics as long as he doesn't end up scaring off her customers with the real eyeballs. Yeah her shop may not be the most inviting place, but she doesn't want her repeat customers to stop coming after accidentally sucking on a real eyeball thinking it's candy.
He goes to her shows whenever he visits Kellen, it's not often, but he's quite a big fan of her. They've only talked a few times, but Milan might have a small little crush on her. Goes to her to craft his gems just to get an excuse to talk to her.
She knows Milan is a fan of her singing, and she's no stranger to someone clearly having a crush on her. She doesn't mind it, Milan is a lot more polite than some guys she's met, and at least he's a good customer outside of just being a fan. She'd like to get to know him more, but he seems bad at small talk.
Toshiyuki is the reason his troublemaking became as harmless as it is today. While he still tries to keep him from getting into too much trouble, Toshiyuki mostly just puts up with him because they are friends. He's never changed, while Toshiyuki feels like he's matured far beyond him, but that's fine. He wants there to be someone there to keep him in check.
Jan and Toshiyuki went to the same high school, and while he wouldn't go on to call Jan his best friend he can at least consider him a good friend. Though he was a bit of a troublemaker compared to Toshiyuki so most of their friendship was spent trying to Jan out of trouble. He was a model student compared to Jan constantly skipping class.
They've known each other for a very long time, had a crush on him when she was younger. Used to be rivals of their shard skill but she found a different path to go down in her career and skills, while Ciar kept improving till he became a professor. Still visits him from time to time to spar but by now he's far more skilled. She swears sometimes when he's in Kellen he stops by to hear her sing at her night job, he neither confirms nor denies it but she thinks he can't hide it forever.
Ciar is the one who taught Ari everything he knows about shard. He was Ciar's student and Ciar is probably the only person he actually respects, everyone else he's pretty cold to. Ciar is one of the only people he's not that way towards and more respectful and polite.
Ciar taught Ari everything he knows, and he sure was a tough teacher on him. He still sometimes meets with Ari to see how he's come along, but otherwise they don't see each other that often. He'd actually like to see him more, not that he'd admit it. Nor does he think Ari would either.
Finds him annoying, but doesn't want to admit he cares about him even a little.
Friend for a very long time and constantly bugging him even when he's far away. Cares about him, openly.
