largely a wip. this is the working wip i use for my own notes while the one in the world group is cleaned up.

this started out as a joke and then became half serious since i watched ratatouille.......it wasn't even that good but here i am now im just making a lot lol

- I wanted to make designs around a "theme" but not lock them to a specific lore. In essence, they are designs with similar base traits.
- I also wanted people to be able to create stories/roleplay the designs as characters within the same "world" as well as exist on their own outside of it. So they're able to be used with other dearmouse but also with any other characters in any setting desired.
- So, this means they can be used in any type of story and do not need to largely depend on the dearmouse lore for their own background, however they will always look a certain way (tail, ears).
- If the character is considered a dearmouse, the information here can be used to aid in their development.

Introduction

1. Dearmouse are a common species that roam earth.
   1. Can be found in any occupation, of all ages.
   2. Existed throughout all of history, and thus have varying styles of dress.
   3. All of them share a universal language known/heard to humans as French. 
      1. Of course, depending on their birthplace they can speak other languages, however all are taught 'French'. It is the instinctive language all dearmouse know in order to communicate.
   4. Not capitalized like 'human', and both plural and singular is dearmouse.
2. Based off of mice, but there are many various types such as chinchillas, hamsters, extending to otters. Some have rare genetic traits and even rarer mutations.
   1. Example of a rare type of animal base is porcupines, who may have a genetic trait of white hair.
   2. Mutation would be a spiky tail.

Traits

1. The inner ear is decorated with some sort of heart symbol.
   1. The ones born without usually wear a heart accessory on their head, ears, or tail.
      1. In some societies, those without heart symbols are outcasted.
   2. Varying sizes.
2. Tails are dependent on the species, however there are various rarer types as well as mutations.
   1. Scaled tails based off of spiny mice.
   2. Spiked tails are mutations.
   3. Overwhelmingly 80% have heartend tails.
3. There are only two types of eyes, normal and slit.
   1. Nocturnal dearmouse have slit eyes.

Magical Subtype

1. The dearmouse that have magical powers usually have 'mist' surrounding their ear(s)/tail as clear indicators to others.
   1. It is impossible to hide the mist. There is currently no common consensus on whether magical dearmouse should be feared or respected.
2. The mist's appearance indicates what types of abilities they have.
   1. Mist means the dearmouse is capable of simple healing spells and levitation.
   2. Dearmouse with flame-styled mist are able to use low level elemental spells.
   3. Mist that forms objects are seen in dearmouse that are able to conjure and banish objects.

Mutations

1. As an abundant and populous species, dearmouse are rather prone to mutations. This can be a result of their parents in which one is not a dearmouse and the other is, or a seemingly random mutation in their genetic code.
   1. They're based off of mice so populations increase quickly in new areas.
      
2. Depending on the environment, dearmouse evolve to better fit their home. In colder regions, dearmouse may have fur.
   

Trivia

1. Half of them are nocturnal (regardless of animal base type). 
   1. Nocturnal ones are able to expand their pupils. 
2. Great sense of hearing and smell.
   1. Often good at cooking.
3. They're herbivores, mainly. Grain and fruits are their favorite type of food.
4. Adjusts to any type of environment easily, part of the reason they are so prevalent and common.
