Mei-Xing thankfully saves him, kicking him out of his seat to go help carry snacks in. Once he’s in the kitchen, she whips around to face Akihiko, an intense grin plastered on her face. “Sorry to break it to you, buddy, but you won’t get very far with him.”
A wistful sigh escapes Akihiko’s lips and he slides his baseball cap off his head. “Doesn’t swing that way?”
“Doesn’t swing any way. That door is bolted shut, bro.”
“I have a wrench in my car trunk.” Akihiko replies, matching Mei-Xing’s grin.
MIrai’s voice is muffled from the other room, but carries to them; “I heard that!”
She had naively thought the legends were true - that the beast of the sky was able to grant eternal happiness - the irony of it all being ripped away from her as she was pulled further and further away from Johto. When they land, everything passes as a blur until her parents show her the new house they’ll be staying in.
They didn’t give a reason.
She was twelve when she learned her parents might not be telling her the truth.
She was thirteen when she finally summoned the courage to leave again.
“Well,” he begins, startling the two young trainers, “Are you going to go after her?” Bunny stands still for a moment, clutching at the straps of her bag. Her mind runs rampant, wondering what they are, were, could be - whatever - but after a moment her thoughts still.
She and Chai had travelled the region for what seemed like ages now, and in a moment of hindsight and retrospect she realizes how terribly in love with her best friend she is. Oh. She thinks, kicking a loose rock that lays on the ground, Took me long enough, huh?
Mirai sometimes relished the fact that Ren was unpredictable. His own quirk had quickly tormented him with boredom, consuming his life with apathy. Ren was a wildcard and Mirai was incredibly thankful that she could offer him some escape from his crushing indifference.
Today was not one of those days where he appreciated the fact that Ren was a complete and total wildcard.
It had all started with just some playful banter, Iris teasing Hakai about his height and Hakai retaliating with some witty quips. However, it had quickly escalated when Iris had reached down to pluck Hakai’s hat off his head as a joke, aiming to hold it a little out of reach to enunciate his point.
In an instant, Hakai lost it.
