Star Children
Star children, also known as Stellarites, is an alien species I made to do design work and world creation with, just for fun! They are human souls combined with star energy, and would be considered human. Other alien species would differentiate them from humans and regular humans would do the same. They all live in a space colony made by the black hole deity Crystellus. They are all split up into smaller colonies, each one named after certain human constellations. Their territory stretch out around a black hole. Currently I'm in the process of re-designing them all, and if you're curious you can always check my progress on this carrd site. I have redesigned 6 out of ~26 characters so far.
Argo Navis is an old and huge star constellation, it's not really used in actual astronomy anymore. I'm using it for ease with themes and lore because it is compromised of multiple small constellations. Carina, Puppis and Vela are the constellations within. Carina is the keel/hull, which is the main body of the ship. It's the part that is in the water, alongside with the exposed upper parts that you walk on. Puppis is the poop deck/stern which is the back of the boat and the building you can enter on top of the boat. Vela are the sails, which is self-explanatory. I might include the constellation Pyxis (which is a compass) as well to the Argo Navis later on. The aesthetic themes are generally nautical- and boat-centric. This includes fishing, cruising, the ocean (including marine life) and certain mythology. The constellation doesn't have a clear purpose yet.
Lupus focuses on human information and "original earth" information (there are two earths in this world, the original one and the new one.) Human history is it's main focus but it also focuses on biology on earth, like insects, plants, locations, world events, etc.. Lupus is home to multiple libraries, zoos, museums and more, all about earth. Accuracy and authenticity is key. Lupus themes and aesthetics are wolves and metal.
Lyra deals with diplomacy and knowledge about the current universe and the creatures it inhabits. Relations with other alien species is the main priority, but Lyra also deals as a bridge between any alien civilization, not just the star children. The aesthetic themes of Lyra is lightness, ease and elegance.
Microscopium is a science-oriented constellation that specialized in black holes, genetic research as well as soul research. This constellation is protected heavily, making star children born in it prone to isolation. Work here is kept secretive, even from some of the other constellations. Microscopiums themes are macro and micro, like under a telescope! It's also very futuristic and geometrical.
Orions themes and aesthetics so far are hunting gear and sportswear. There will be multiple star children honed in different hunting techniques with weapons like bows or utility like bear traps, but on a cosmic scale (haha). The constellations purpose is so far vaguely self-defense oriented.
Perseus is a constellation kept in secrecy, not much is known about it. Outside of the residents only a few beings knows of it's existence.
Sun is all alone in the solar system. Haven't quite given much thought about it yet.
