In this universe there are 8 forms of magic: Abjuration, Conjuration, Diviation, Enchantment, Evocation, Illusion, Necromancy, and Transmutation. When a child is born, they are blessed with the gift of magic. You only get one, and the type of magic depends on your family. Each family, no matter the ranking, will have an object that is associated with them. It could be a snake, cross, or even a chair if you're unlucky enough. You must have a piece of clothing/jewelry/etc with that object's design on it at all times. You could get arrested for not having it on you. The reason this is taken so seriously is because the objects were from the Duzu to protect the humans from curses. The Duzu were God-like beings that possessed every form of magic. The five Duzu protected the ancient ruins of Azomyhr and the treasure within for eons. Rumor has it that the treasure gives you the ability to use all forms of magic like the Duzu. Hopefully it doesn't fall into the wrong hands.
