One day, Teddy, an unassuming but curious teenager, finds herself in a mysterious place named Riverkill, not remembering how she got there or how long she’s been living there. Aside from having a weird recurring dream almost every night, she and her friends notice more and more unnatural occurrences happening around them - but at the same time, everyone in this small town seems to be suspiciously unaware of those things happening right outside of their homes. If someone comes forward about something they’ve witnessed, they are silenced by an unknown power, or they seem to have changed their minds the next day. The town’s TV station also does not make an effort to make people feel heard or to tell their stories accurately, instead they claim that there is a logical explanation for everything and that there is nothing to be worried about.

Teddy and her friends make new acquaintances (and enemies) as they dig deeper into the strange history of Riverkill, but uncover many secrets they were not supposed to learn. It turns out that every person in Riverkill is hiding something…
