The Floating Bazaar

The crew of the traveling merchant ship and shop, The Floating Bazaar! They carry goods from all corners of the known realm, and beyond!

The Floating Bazaar was once only a ship, though the Captain doesn’t divulge much of her history. About two decades past, the old barquentine was gutted and remodeled to start work as a merchant supply vessel, the Diligence. Eventually, the captain got the idea to host shops on the ship itself, creating a moving Bazaar that crossed across all the known world, and sometimes even the unknown. The ship grew in fame and eventually in fortune, and thus the trade route of the Floating Bazaar was born.

The Floating Bazaar travels across the world, making at least a stop a month. The Bazaar travels to large cities with set aside docks for the market. The largest docks are used for the Bazaar (and of course other ships, but the Bazaar could only use that one). When they dock, the crew spends a day readying the Bazaar for shoppers. Large drapes and designed banners are hung from the gaffs once the sails are stowed. A sturdy pole is hoisted parallel to the handrail that a drop cloth could be hung from that serves as a backdrop to the stalls that are then assembled and set on the deck. Various crew members that are appointed stall keepers spend the day bringing up and arranging their wares. While setup is happening on the ship, stalls are also being set up by local vendors along the pier and, if there are a lot, along the boardwalk. Food vendors wheel their goods along, taking advantage of the bustling pre-market construction to peddle their goods, feeding workers and crew alike. The whole population is excited for the upcoming Bazaar Week, which operates as a sort of fair of sorts.
