Hiya, I am Annabel! Online, I am also known as 'Marurei' or by my persona's name, Kanna.
I am an Australian beginner/hobbyist digital artist, animator, writer and coder. My primary project is the world of ATOTI, an isekai about two immortals, though I have many different stories with different lore and characters on display in my directory.
I have been practising art since I was a young child, heavily inspired by my grandmother’s creativity. While I mainly work digitally, I also enjoy traditional mediums such as watercolour, oil and fineline ink. Much of my art, writing, and characters are deeply personal and have grown and developed alongside me, please be respectful when interacting with, or commenting on their stories. Enjoy browsing!
Interests
- Fandom Culture I have always been heavily involved in fandom culture at large. I LOVE the freedom of being able to expand upon my favourite media with fanart and fanfiction, and the sense of community it brings.
- History I am a hugeeee history nerd! Especially when it comes to women's history or the liberation of colonial countries. My nerdy niche tends to be anywhere between the 1400s to the 1800s, specifically in England, India, Ireland, America, Australia & Prussia. I believe there is an incredibly important volume of information written in our past.
- Monarchy Related to my love of history, I also have a large bias for anything to do with royalty; the fashion, social expectations, displays of wealth, political influence, lineage, it just all utterly fascinates me.
- Cute & Gothic Aesthetics Definitely the aesthetics i love the most, the gothic era has a lot of intricate design work and im a sucker for anything cutsie. I don't like cyber, modern or futuristic aesthetics at all.

Hello! My name is Annabel, the artist behind this account :)
This tab is specifically about IRL me, or well- only the information I'm comfortable putting on the internet.
I am an Australian-born artist, animator, writer & coder. Art is my primary hobby, it helps me process my emotions in a very healthy, patient way.
Usually, I'm a very sensitive person; I have way too many emotions when it comes to consuming fictional media, I become a huge crybaby over the smallest things and get nightmares from creepypastas! Because of this, I tend to gravitate towards cute and inspirational adventure stories.
As a kid, I was very shy and nerdy, a total weird kid. But now as an adult, I am trying my best to be more social and grow out of my shell! Though at times, I am still (unfortunately) unintentionally awkward.
Honestly, I have very high, unrealistic expectations for both myself and the people around me. I have huge aspirations and goals that will be very difficult to achieve, and I want nothing less than my perfect dream life, eventually. It's so motivating, yet stressful to dream so highly hahaha.
Trivia
- I'm an 'apescatarian' (opposite of a pescatarian)! I don't consume any food-products from the sea or waterways, including; fish, crustacians, molluscs & seaweed, as well as any kind of aquatic or semi-aquatic mammals & amphibians.
- I'm a big animal-lover and care for the environment a lot! Especially the unique flora & fauna of my home country, Australia.
- I don't have any siblings, nor any close family. I become very jealous of those who have large families they are close to, it's my dream :)
Character Kins
Characters in film & media who I heavily relate to, and whom I feel are very similar to me, either through their personality, backstory, motivations or interests. These characters make me feel very seen!About
I come from a rural village with less than 1000 people in it! As a kid, I grew up fairly adventurous and loved to explore the paddocks & creeks around me. Because of this, I tend to be more comfortable around farm animals and wildlife rather than in large crowds or in the city.
I am also a very big dreamer; I have very unrealistic goals and aspirations, backed up by nothing but pure hope. Being an only-child, daydreaming has become my favourite passtime, giving me an overactive imagination and fantastical ideals.
I live by very strict rules; I have made a long list of everything I want to achieve in life, how I want to achieve it, and hard lines of things I am completely unwilling to do. I don't trust my own emotional judgement at all, so creating these lists of rules to live by has really helped me stay safe and sane.
This fact sometimes comes across as too much or overly strict to my friends and family, however, they have become so interwined with how I interact with the world that I cannot fathom ever "going with the flow" the same way other people are so easily able to.
The punk scene has been the most welcoming community to me, I've found. Even though I don't particularly look or act traditionally 'punk', these people are some of the best people I'd ever met and have opened my eyes to so many things I'd previously overlooked.
I am a fairly open/friendly person, please don't be scared to interact with me! If you have any questions or just want to talk, my DMs are always open <3
Ethos
I am very heavily tied to my morals and ethics; most prominantly believing that every single person should have equal oppertunities in life, irregardless of race, gender, class, sexuality, citizenship, religion, or level of ability. These are the themes I most often discuss in my writing & worldbuilding.
Though, we are currently facing high levels of censorship across the political spectrum (especially in Australia & England!) and so therefore many of my personal opinions will be focused on anti-censorship in all art and literature. These spaces on the internet dedicated to anti-censorship have historically been incredibly important to queer communities, they should be protected.
Politically, I am openly a feminist and a communist, I align with very leftist values. Though, I come from a fairly conservative, catholic, rural area, and am always learning.
While I specifically like to focus my efforts on misogyny & environmental impacts, I believe all of it goes back to intersectionality; no one category of progression is inherently different from the other, and these subjects are not exclusive of one another. In order for a better society, we have to be open to progression across the board even if there are some disagreements. This is why I personally do my best to avoid leftist infighting, instead trying to focus on the broader societal instances of bigotry rather than on an individualistic basis.
TLDR: I am a feminist, communist, anti-censorship, anti-harassment, anti-purity culture, & overall progressive. I am not a moral puritan, and do not care if individuals are interested in morally-ambiguous or dark/sick subjects.

This is one of my dogs, Monty. He's a very old boy, born on November 10, 2011. I got him at six years old, when my mother purchased him from some rando in the newspaper for $75 AUD.

She's just a baby, born on August 24, 2023! She is a border collie who was born on a family friend's farm. She requires a LOT of excercise, it's so tiring, but I love her a lot!

Coding
