i think he's an amazing character, which a surprising amount of people misunderstand! yes, he's violent. yes, he loves to fight--but that's not all he is! he fights to feel something, for the he had never found much comfort in life. the only sort of satisfaction he had found is in battles where he is challenged. he fights for purpose. something he had been given, to become the garlean prince, but was not satisfied with. hence he found his own.
