Reine is invited to participate in something titled The Aralia Project, with the ambitious goal of crafting a country from the ground up that would allow those who don’t fit into society to live however they want. He’s shuffled into an expanding group of misfits who struggle to get along. None of them quite get how “founding a country” works, but that’s not going to stop them from trying. After all, once all your bridges have burned, all you have left is the island.

Suicide
“I don’t know what happens when someone dies,” Lucifer continued. “Not really. I could list all the details about what happens to the body, how it shuts down piece by piece and begins to deteriorate so, so quickly. And I could tell you about the brain, and the sudden frenzy of activity right before it turns off for good. That extraordinary flashing so powerful it could create its own universe that one could inhabit for eternity in the space of a millisecond.”
In which there is threats of retaliation
A grim reaper named Lu gets bored of her job and tries to learn more about humans from their perspective. She is summarily fired, turned into a human, and forced to live among them, only to overhear a plot by angels to trigger the apocalypse. With no way to contact the underworld and no sane people around to believe her claims, she joins forces with a pair of wackjob pseudo-Christians to try to stop the end of the world.
