Basic summary for Dark: Due to unforeseen circumstances, a human had come close to death's door, as such his physical well being had been left worse for wear.  After meeting his demise, he was surprised to have the opportunity to open his eye(s) once more; he had been given a second chance to live. 

Main brainstorming for story arch ahead: 

Kiyoshi had been brought into the world by the people who had shown that humans, among other beings were not to be trusted. 

His biological parents had started off sane, like any loving parents they've provided what was needed both materialistically and physically, that picture perfect moment was short lived. 

Kiyoshi's father left when he was around 5, he seemingly de-materialized in a sense, without a letter or so much as a word left behind him, the only thing left was a broken household. 

Kiyo's bio-mother turned to alcoholism, turned her hand towards kiyo when sober. 

Due to having his father's eyes, kiyoshi took on the anger that had once been directed towards his father. (Basically he was abused, neglected, and left to fend for himself since his mom was a deadbeat and dead to the world) 

After some time, kiyo left home when he was old enough to legally work and make a living, although that didn't quite work out in his favor due to his haggard appearance so he turned to other matters for survival. (Scavenging for food, stealing.) His heart had always been in the right place, he never raised his hand against another person, being, or animal. Most nights whenever his scavenging failed, he'd take to sleeping under a well-used highway rather than take to fighting others for the food his worn body craved. 

His body creaked with each step he took in his life, his knees threatening to give way as he fought to keep on moving forward. 

Even with his determination, his body crumbled from the stress and lack of maintenance.

At the age of 19, kiyoshi finally listened to death's call. He feared death more than anything, he feared it more than the images of his past that swam throughout his head each night. 

He hated the thought of it, the very concept of it. 

He hated it because the people who had been in his life prayed for it to fall upon him, they wished for him to disappear just like his father did. 

He didn't want their wishes to become a reality, yet there he laid. 

That was the end of kiyoshi hakumura, and the beginning of Dark.
