Julie D'Aubigny, known as La Maupin, led a certifiably bizarre life from the moment she was born in 1670 to the moment she died in 1707. La Maupin was a bold, openly bisexual duelist who was a bit of a heartbreaker, made most of her decisions on pure impulse, and often did not care much for propriety.
