Noir thinks Suiko is an valuable member of her crew; trusting the seasoned navigator to guide their ship through many a storm. She also recognises someone who also doesn't like to share their personal pains, though she is a little jealous Suiko is able to be emotionally honest with their crew whereas she can't. Suiko brings joy and laughter to the crew at the worst of times, as well as reassurance that everything will work out in the end.
Nox is Meifeng's partner in crime, the two are practically inseparable. Kindred spirits from the moment they met, Meifeng can read Nox's thoughts with no words spoken between them. They are the most common pair to be seen together aboard the ship, always getting up to mischief to others chagrin.
Meifeng is like the sister Nox never had, always on the same wavelength, chasing chaos and mayhem.
Constantly hyping Meifeng up to Blanc, Nox is very aware of the twos feelings for each other and can't help but try to help their closest friend out. At first Blanc is rather annoyed, but later thinks the gesture was rather sweet, if unneeded.
In an crew of quite a lot of unruly characters, Blanc is a breath of calmness and often times solidarity of the hijinks of their crew. Calyspo knows she can ask Blanc questions and the other woman will answer them truthfully, and they both try their best to make Noir take better care of herself. The two are often in each others company, quietly working or reading in the same space, and often taking a break to share their thoughts.
She and Calyspo get along really well, as they have a mutual affection, be it different, for their captain. For years Blanc wanted Noir to open up and she's relieved when Calypso comes along and gets her closest friend to be more vulnerable. You'll often see Blanc and Calyspo speaking together about literature, something the two both share is a love for knowledge, and the two tend to pick up books they'll think the other will like on islands.
Meifeng originally got on Blanc's nerves, and she found her flirtatious shenanigans annoying, not really taking them seriously. However, she grows fond of Meifeng, not able to resist the other woman's infectious energy, and can't begrudge that if things go wrong, Meifeng is quick to strike down danger. She may roll her eyes, but if Meifeng ever acts anything than her cheerful chaotic self, she gets worried. Initially she was wary, as she didn't think Meifeng's flirting was anything serious, feeling insecure since she knows Meifeng has been with alot of people, but once they do have a serious conversation, she feels more confident and assured that Meifeng is serious about her.
Meifeng loves to rile Blanc up, as she's eager for her attention. She was the first out of the two to realise she wanted to be committed, which surprised herself initially as she'd always flitted from one fling to the next. She does take the feelings seriously, though she forgets to tell Blanc for ages that she wants to be with her, just ramping up the flirting. Blanc is the restraint to her impulse, and Meifeng is obsessed with her. She knows Blanc has some past demons haunting her, and grows rather protective about the thought of Blanc in any harm or danger. If she can make the exasperated first mate crack a smile or an rare laugh, she feels like she's on top of the world.
Noir is thrilled to see Dahlia growing into herself the longer she is with the crew, its a reminder why she started her crew in the first place. Dahlia is much more subdued compared to the chaos of the rest of the crew, so Noir will occasionally keep the younger woman company when she needs a little bit of quiet.
Dahlia is very grateful towards Noir for saving her from a terrible fate; but is much more subdued than Eirian is towards the older woman. She is friendly and always enjoys spending time with Noir,
Noir is always amused by Meifeng's antics, but also believes in her abilities as a sharpshooter 100 percent. She feels reassured knowing that Meifeng is watching her and the crew's backs from above, ready to strike anyone down who is an threat, often before they realised there was any danger. She knows that despite Meifeng's cavalier attitude and perchance for goofing off, that she's always keeping an eye and ear for trouble, and will become serious when the time comes.
When Meifeng first heard about an group of unruly pirates led by an intimidating woman, she knew the Monochrome's would be the place for her! Noir is rather imposing at first, but she finds their captain has a large heart and protects others like its second nature. Meifeng tries her best to get Noir to loosen up, and often succeeds with her infectious energy.
Noir had almost forgotten what a mother was like by the time she met Cheri, but the older woman's endless warmth and care was familiar. Noir prefers letting Cheri dote on the rest of the crew, with herself just watching from the side-lines, but she's always surprised when Cheri turns her kindness to her. Despite her rank as Captain, Noir often bends to Cheri's suggestions or gentle scolding if she's pushed herself when hurt or sick, hating to make the older woman stress out.
Cheri has always had an maternal instinct, even with her Captain. She fusses as much as she can towards the younger woman, always offering her an open ear or an warm conversation to cheer her up if she seems down.
Noir knows they lucked out getting such a good doctor, one who will keep a close eye on the health of their crew. She also recognised the loneliness that was within Jacqueline, someone who had grown distant from their life due to constant work and struggle, and wants her to feel hopeful again with their crew.
Jacqueline is often exasperated by her Captain's reckless abandon for their own health, and often scolds her for getting herself hurt. She can't begrudge her Captain's reasonings; protecting their crew or innocent people, but it does drive her up the wall. Despite often being annoyed, Jac is grateful that Noir gave her a purpose on her ship, though she will deny any maternal feelings towards the unruly crew at any cost.
Eirian is one of the youngest members of her crew, and Noir is particularly protective over them, even more so once she learned about their past. She knows Eirian is capable of protecting herself however, and never holds the younger pirates hostile and defensive nature against them. She is really glad to see them lower their guard with their crew and growing closer with everyone.
Eirian thinks Noir is the coolest person ever! Noir was the first person they ever met who wasn't afraid or angered by her existence, not even when Eirian bit them hard enough to make her bleed. Noir's compassion and acceptance was the first step to Eirian beginning to heal, even if the journey was long and there were set backs. Eirian will be the first to offer herself up for a task just to get praise, even if the younger pirate denies it vehemently.
Blanc is Noir's First Mate, and first real friend. Noir see's Blanc as an younger sister that she has to protect, especially after hearing about Blanc's father being an infamous tyrant that might one day track her down. Despite all the years they've been joined at the hip, Noir kept a wall between them regarding her own past, but despite this the two get along well, and Noir knows if anything ever happened to her, that Blanc would take care of their crew.
From the moment the pair met, Blanc has looked up to Noir and felt safe for the first time in her life. She knows for certain that Noir would kill her father for her if he ever tried to take her back to his crew, but she does wish Noir would share her own demons back. She can't hold it against her captain however, and she's patient, hoping one day Noir will finally be ready to tell her.
Literally worships the ground she walks on, indulges her every whim and just wants her to be happy surrounded by all the things she loves ;; Able to be vulnerable for the first time in her life with Calypso!! Always puts others happiness first, so Calypso really helps her slow down and let herself have the things she wants for once.
Noir is fr her dream woman, like one of the dashing heroes from her novels but a hundred times better because she's real; ever swooning over Noir being her noble devoted self, but also tries her best to get her to open up about her personal struggles because Noir carries way to much on her shoulders to be healthy and needs to let others help her.
