Hey!
I've talked with a few people recently who did this, they were new to Toyhouse and didn't realize the impact it can cause. So i wanted to make a quick journal to kind of make some people aware of what can happen if you spontaneously Delete and Resubmit a Character.

The people who did this were pretty excited about it actually, letting me know that they're reuploading images because they wanted a fresh start for their character's page, so they had actually deleted the character from toyhouse for no reason. This is detrimental for several reasons, most of which center around the core reason for using toyhou.se to begin with.

(i will link to some of my oldest characters to show examples)

Each character, when you initially upload it to toyhouse, gets a unique ID number, and a whole page that basically builds along time, a whole pile of like, legacy and breadcrumbs that make up the legitimacy of the page itself. The ID number matches the timeline of when it was uploaded, meaning, very old characters have smaller ID numbers, and says how long they've been an actual page on Toyhouse. This is desirable, because the older the character, the more solid its 'legitimacy' is, and its very easy to see that its not a fake, or scam ect.

Knut, ID number 492511, (6 digits) posted 7 years ago.
Ava, ID number 13508475, (8 digits) posted 1 year ago.

Aside from that initial boon, every single thing that happens to the character from that point is logged on their page, adding to its body of items. 

• The Creator, and all designers may be actually linked to the page through Toyhouse, which is a 2 step process that the Creator actually has to verify. This also helps prove legitimacy, combating character theft.
• This ALSO includes the character within that Artist's DESIGN gallery, which is sometimes carefully curated by them, sometimes even going so far as to upload designs themselves and then transferring ownership to adopt purchaser.
• Images uploaded all have timestamps, and are often linked to Artists on Toyhouse, and may even feature other characters, which can be linked to the image itself.  (Said timestamps can also combat character theft) example, see posted 2016
• Literature posted has them linked directly as "cast members".  (example, see that character "1157" is still in the cast, even though i no longer own them)
• Ownership changes are all logged with timestamps and reasons on the Ownership page.  (example, character "1157" from last bulletpoint) 
• Links can be formed between them and other characters.  (example)
• They might be located within Worlds, linked directly as a member.  
• They may have been added to other member's favorites, sometimes amassing a large number of fans who might like to revisit or watch their growth. 
• They may have been used to post "In Character" comments on any location on toyhouse, even within RP forums with extensive content. (Example below)
• ect.
  
  Basically, what makes a character page on toyhouse important isn't just the character itself, its the growth, development, and legacy of the entire page itself, which is instantly, and permanently lost if you Delete that page just to reupload for some reason. So please check, check, and triple check everything if for some reason you absolutely must re-post a character's page.

henlo! idk if toyhouse alerts for this, so i just wanted to make a quick post,

Idk how common this is, but in the groups that I'm active in, whenever I talk about TH, there seems to be at least 2 or 3 people each time, who mention that they'd love to try it, but are scared because it seems so confusing.

So i made a couple super simple, step-by-step videos, kind of showing how a new account would look, and how to start setting up your characters.
if you know anyone who might benefit from these, they might help!

Also, if anyone needs invite codes, I usually have around 40 at my disposal, so don't be afraid to PM/DM me on discord or dA and ask for one or two!
Please note, that after an infortunate (unfortunate, wow did i really just type INfortunate? LOL)  issue with people "snagging a bunch for a group of friends" that ended up being one guy making multiple accounts to steal characters with, I'll only be giving out one or two codes at a time, and if you have a large group of people who want to join, they'll each need to message me asking for one, so i can check their account age (on whatever platform) ect.

planning on practicing human art on my characters from WoW and GW2 haha :)

Sorry about spamming some re-submitted characters. Back when the option of character tabs became available, I shoved several couples and groups of small characters, and fandom characters too, into tabs within other characters, but its proving frustrating to have them that way, so i'm restoring them all into their own profiles now :)

I've also got a beautiful new setup thanks to @ovob , so i've been busy setting everyone nicely together and organizing haha

If you own any species designs by me you should check it out and add them to the world! (also make sure the masterlist is accurate for your designs!)

About my designs though!! For a while, I asked that designs by me be credited to my deviantart instead of my TH account,
this was mostly because I thought it made sense to link to where the art was going to be posted.

BUT, I've changed my mind, and I really like being able to see them all in my Designs page so I can see where they go and watch them grow!! :D
