Oh my gosh. First of all - huge sorry to everyone I left hanging out of the blue.

School's ended for the year so I actually have some spare time now. The final month or so was incredibly hectic for me.

The good news is that I'm all yours for the next two months. ;w; Sorry for dropping off the face of the Earth.

To celebrate the Halloween aesthetic (that's non-existent in Australia) I'll be auctioning off this very rare child:

You can click them to go through to the auction or here.

Thank you! Happy Halloween y'all. <3

Posted 7 years, 6 months ago by urmille

♥ Hey guys! I wanted to share my (free) MYO event that's going on as part of the launch of the Lalion DA group!
The event can be found here but I'll copy + paste the main points on here as well for those who may not use DA - I don't want to exclude y'all.

•This event will run from the 18th of October to the 25th of October, cutting off at 9:00pm AEST.
•You don't have to be a member of the group, but I'd appreciate it if you joined after creating your Lalion.
•Designs must be noted / PM'd to me so I can approve them - any that break rules or disregard the species info will be denied. Please submit them to the group too!
•Only common & uncommon traits may be used with the exception of the three tails trait. Designs with notched ears, 5+ colour palettes or flowers other than dandelions will not be approved. No mutations either.

Please refer to the following species sheet: (link if image doesn't work)

More in-depth info & lore here.
Examples of common/uncommon Lalions can be found here and here.

So with that in mind, you have full artistic liberty! Your Lalions can be any sex or gender, be in blooming or seeding phase, and you can draw them on a base or freeform. I don't mind. Feel free to ask any questions you'd like.
Please credit me as the species creator if you upload your design on here/elsewhere.
(totally not a blatant rip from my thread lmao)

MICI | SPECIES INFORMATION

Posted 7 years, 11 months ago by urmille

LORE:

Mici are said to be born from their very surroundings, shrouded by a veil of mystery due to their isolated nature. Most people would never lay eyes on one in their life - unless they went looking, but that is considered to be a dangerous activity.

Physically, Mici are quite small and look weak, but their size is not to be underestimated. The horns on their arms and legs are made of a strong keratin and will leave some nasty holes in their wake. Their skin and hair can be any colour, with each Mica possessing a unique pattern. Not much is known about their internal structure, but it is likely that their gut is filled with an incredibly strong acid to break down the vast amount of stone they consume. The hooves on their feet are as hard as the rocks they eat.

Their colonies are tightly-woven communities tucked away in cave systems. The most common area to find these are in mountains, but some Mici have lived in dens in forests. Mici are careful to keep their fragmented populations around 15 individuals in order to live a sustainable and secret life. The average life expectancy is around 40 years. A Mica is expected to breed twice in their lifespan, which can happen with a partner or asexually (in which case the offspring is remarkably -but not quite- the same as their parent), both options resulting in an egg that hatches about 8 months after it is concieved. Mutations are rare and mostly non-lethal. Any that would hinder a Mica's ability to function are dealt with at birth. If a Mica is born with a third eye, they are appointed as a spiritual guide for their group, but otherwise they are just like every other member of the colony.

Singular mica [mi-ca] / Plural mici [mi-chi]
჻ Mici are crepuscular creatures that live within small caves, usually in the face of rocky mountains.
჻ They live in groups of around 10-20 individuals.*
჻ They're a naturally hostile species and are aggressive to intruders; they have become the target of old wives' tales that discourage children from wandering off alone.*
჻ For the most part they live off mineral-rich rocks and soil, but may seek out roughage or fruit to augment their diet.
჻ They are essentially sexless. Successful reproduction doesn't require two adults, although it is an option in order to increase genetic diversity. (They actually lay eggs)
჻ Mici rarely reach a height above 4½ ft / 1.4m.
჻ The thick skin that covers their bodies, especially when combined with their tin4y stature, means that they don't normally wear clothes in their natural habitat. If they leave, they can enjoy fashion tailor-made for them.

* While encouraged, it's not a requirement to follow every aspect of the lore for your adopt. Feel free to come up with your own ideas & personality! (Obviously don't re-write the physical side of the species please)

BREEDING INFORMATION:

Mici are able to breed in two ways; asexually and 'sexually'.

The first does not require another Mica and results in an offspring that is almost exactly the same as the lone parent, while 'sexual' reproduction involves another Mica and the resulting child will have a mixture of its parents' traits. 'Sexual' is in airquotes because it doesn't involve the same process that humans undertake to reproduce (the bump 'n' grind side of things) but still ends up with the fusion of two gametes. How Mici manage to reach pregnancy is basically unknown and left up to interpretation. Eventually, one or, in rare cases, two eggs are concieved and begin to develop within the host Mica. These are laid after a month through a cloaca of sorts, where the soft shells quickly solidify to form a practically unpenetrable layer around the developing fetus. The eggs are generally incubated in turns by members of the colony in a community nest, requiring protection from the cold ground and any sources of water.

After 7 months the eggs will hatch provided they've been cared for properly, and the newborn Mica will emerge after spending a day or two soaking up the remaining yolk in its egg. They are born fully-functional. Over the next week their skin and horns will harden, and they will begin to eat soil and small rocks. As Mica grow their skin may appear to shed but it is never a full-body affair like it is with snakes or lizards. Within a year they are as developed and strong as their adult counterparts.

DO NOT BREED YOUR MICI WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. PLEASE MESSAGE AND DISCUSS IT WITH ME FIRST.
