The forest is engulfed in turmoil as a strange group of cats known as "The Forever Watching" has managed to convince all the clans, except for WindClan, that StarClan are liars and have deceived them all along. The once strong connection to their ancestors has shattered, leaving the clans vulnerable and lost.

StarClan, furious with the disbelief of the clans, retaliates with a display of their power. They unleash a devastating flood upon RiverClan, leaving few survivors who eventually turn into rogues. ShadowClan is not spared either, as a thunderstorm strikes their territory, causing many cats to abandon their clan in fear.

WindClan, determined to restore the faith in StarClan, tirelessly tries to convince the other clans that they have been deceived by The Forever Watching. But the other clans, entangled in doubt and fear, struggle to trust the spirits of their ancestors again.

The Forever Watching, a cult worshipping the dark forest, was founded by Ghost, who has since disappeared. Now, his daughter, Spider, leads the group. The warrior code has changed drastically, with any cat killing their kin condemned to the dark forest, regardless of their intentions.

StarClan, in their anger and stubbornness, sends more cats to the dark forest instead of welcoming them into their realm, leaving no new additions to their ranks. At night, star and dark forest cats, still attached to the physical world, wander as ghosts to fulfill unfinished tasks or provide support to their loved ones.

Amidst the chaos, the original dark forest cats revel in the chaos, finding joy in watching StarClan's retaliation. However, innocent cats, forced into the dark forest, are terrified and confused, trapped in a realm they never wanted to be part of.

ThunderClan, once united, is now thrown into a crisis of faith and identity, uncertain of whom to believe or trust. Meanwhile, the rogues and loners adapt to the changes, only annoyed by the endless rain caused by StarClan's wrath.
