Lawrence is always the person Ranielle knows she can depend on. But where she lacks in battle, she makes up for spirit, where Lawrence needs work on. She often encourages Lawrence to step out of his comfort zone, most especially in social situations.
Ranielle is one of Lawrence's best friends growing up. They've known each other for as long as they can remember. He always finds himself looking after Ranielle due to her clumsy nature and the fact that Lawrence is more skilled in battle.
It was very jarring for Chi to have someone pop out of nowhere and claim they know her past. That fact was what made Chi cautious and unsure to be around Kei.
She sometimes finds it nice to have someone to talk to about it, although she wont admit it.
Kei sees Chi as a familiar face moving into a new city alone. Determined to enjoy his time, he finds himself naturally bothering Chi since them being from the same hometown gives him a (one-sided) sense of solidarity with her.
He later finds Chi to cause mischief among humans which causes him to keep a close eye on her.
