Meizha, the Empire of Cinders

One of the grand empires of Lunae's eastern continent. Here live the Xengmin, populating practically only this kingdom. They are proud creatures who excel at most anything. Meizha is known as a militant empire who's army holds great power. It is the second oldest kingdom in all of Lunae, but its greatness rivals most others. The Xengmin are led by a bloodline that has ruled for thousands of years now, coming close to but having never been erased.
The empire is known for their large exoports of a native metal called mesmite, known to withstand incredibly high temperatures but being very heavy as a downside. Xengmin are skilled in metalwork, both decorative and in military uses. Their silks and brocades are sold for thousands of coins, and they are also the only nation to own a colony in Lunae.
Xengmin are sturdy creatures who bend the landscape to their will with respect for their earth goddess, Solninde. These shapeshifters are resilient and use the ashen earth at the feet of volcanoes to grow their crops. Eruptions are fairly common, and have almost become a tourist attraction, as have the numerous hot-and lava springs across the country.
