a world once covered in dense forests and natural life, slowly overgrown and overtaken by a foregin fungi species. years ago the most powerful spirit of these lands took her leave, growing tired of her existence for reasons unknown, she departed the world. no longer under her watch an alien fungal life was able to spread exponentially.

many races fled underground in the early years, believing they would be safe there, unaware of the roots and mycellium growing equally below the surface; but as generations passed the fear grew tiresome and these species fell into a more comfortable existence, over time forgetting about the surface completely.
