reishi is a peaceful creature, he lives mostly alone in the dense forests of the surface, he travels often, never really sure on a destination. he often explores with a childlike energy, movement always enthusiastic and inquisative, on the rare occasion he meets others they will attempt to make lighthearted jokes and engage in play.

fungi grow over his body, he doesn't remember a time before they were there, they're a part of him now either way. these fungi are likely the cause for much of his amnesia and aimlessness, but he fears deeply that if they were removed he would die. they aren't without their benefits however, as some of the fungi and moss contains bioluminescent properties, seen in his front paws and grown from his forehead, aiding in their exploraton of the forests.

reishi is not aware of this, but whilst he thinks he would die if he were to be cut from the fungi on his body, the truth is that he has already died, and has somehow been preserved by the forest and revived through the parasitic nature of the fungi. this explains his lack of memory as they are now somewhat of a living ghost, fueled to explore by some sense of unfinished business forgotten to their past life.
