I just need to throw this out there. I don’t like closed species. Unless you’re not letting anyone make use of them they shouldn’t be closed in the first place.
To me the things are socially accepted NFTs. The amount of money people fucking pay for some of these things is stupid.
Theyre slimy and scammy and I don’t like them at all.
It’s stupid to limit creativity and stupid to lock something like an original species behind a fucking paywall or events.
If they’re closed they should be closed to everyone no ands ifs or buts
The moment you allow people to make some or release adopts or an “myo” for that species they should be made open

I know this came out of nowhere but I just spontaneously remembered how much a fucking hate them and I just need to rant about them. It’s something that has always pissed me off moreso recently because I’m just being made endlessly aware of how fucking slimy they are
god i agree completely i hate them sm. i remember one time i made a cat with a candle on its head and people went crazy on me for copying candlecats. i hadnt even heard of the closed species concept back then and it makes me even angrier now than i was then.
just let people make what they want good god. i proudly would make an unapproved character inspired off a closed species if i liked one enough because fuck that

It makes me so fuckin angry it all feels so predatory I don’t know why it’s still so accepted. Like if they were closed off to literally everyone I’d understand but to everyone except people who fork over ridiculous amounts of money is downright disgusting
