Just a head-up because I think it's unfair not to let the buyers know I based this character on an AI image. This is what I made:

F1WJlUCaUAAUI8a?format=jpg&name=large

And this is what the whole thing was based on:

F1WJlT7agAAWW9Y?format=jpg&name=900x900

I did not plan to sell it on TH at first. Initially it was just some kind of experiment as I made a comeback on DA and uploaded the sale to see how quick people realize and how they will react afterwards. It's gonna be rewarding if someone knows right away I'm drawing something based on a pre-existing image, because it means I was able to maintain a lot of details from original version. I didn't succeed with my previous attempts. This is a game I created to stimulate my own brain after a long phase of mental instability. Also it irriates me that there are still people buying AI adopts, which is ridiculous.

I know I'm being an asshole to some. It's okay to be annoyed that this character wasn't my original idea.

Same here, tbh- I've been against the acts of improper use and credit of AI images for a while, it's also the reason I left DA earlier. Things could have been a fun and exciting experience for artists

I agree with the statements made... I used to not. I used to be *really angry* about AI art/adopts and shit... But I think as the times are changing- AI is just another tool we can use as artists. There's nothing wrong with your work, or basing your work on something AI generated. Besides, your style is so stunning, it breathed life into an otherwise jumbled generated image.

I wanna get on your level xD;

:"D

But seriously AI can be a great tool when you run out of new concepts. Artists- especially new artists can use it and challenge their skills. Is the idea original? No. Does the outcome look similar to something you've seen before? Maybe. Can you try and improve the design further to the point it screams uniquely yours? Absolutely yes. The blurred/confusing details on AI images requires our creative mind to work on how to fix and rationalize them. Just like solving puzzles.

I believe using AI properly can greatly improve our art skill comparing to seeking for the right references to visualize your concept all alone.

I agree. I'm glad my perspective has changed on it a bit since it became a whole controversy. I haven't tried it myself (I don't have those programs) but I like that it can be a tool.

I think this is an excellent example of how AI can be used as a useful tool for artists and really makes the best of it. I can see the inspiration but your final design is unique and is made up of choices you as an artist had to make to bring it to life into your own style and vision! Like the comment below me said, I also agree that ai can be a wonderful companion for artists to break art blocks or find direction. This is totally different than straight up selling whatever the ai makes directly haha

May I ask what ai you used? It looks fun to play with and I admit I really don't know a lot about them

Thank you XD

I took the reference image from a random AI adopt account on DA because I have no idea how to work with prompts or MidJourney (it's also the app that account used to generate stuffs like this)

Oh I see!! Yeah that stuff is so techy its a bit out of my realm xD

I'm usually very much against AI made stuff, but I like the idea to use AI as a tool and not a replacement, I do think AI can be used by artists either for references, to get out of ArtBlock or to push more to experimentation ! :D

On your case, I do like you ended up saying how you made it, and I like the fact you re-made your own version of it and not just thrown it like it ! I guess the AI question is really depending each case !

Also, the usual problem I have personally with AI is the question of art getting stolen, that's why even the slightest use of any of these AI image generator kind of sites is still problematic :((

I like your art in the end, so as long as used wisely and not in profusion for making adopts, I guess everything's right ? At least it's my opinion ! :)

Thank you UwU stuffs like this will be very limited in number as I have my own ideas to execute also (it may change in the future as I'm incessantly searching and saving AI images for character references...)

Yes I'm aware that the use of AI images is still a hot debate everywhere so I want to be clear about where my design comes from, how original it is so no one is confused or get angry at me for not telling them what they got was based on AI in the first place. My work ethic kinda put a gun on my head for this XD
