hey, i thought i'd make a list of my likes and dislikes in characters.

this is prone to being edited and reworked in the future, so by no means is this at any time a complete list.

this is not meant to bash anyone's preferences, designs, or characters! these are just my preferences.

LIKES

• dark/neutral/muted colors
• earth tones
• black/white/gray color schemes
• red/white/black color schemes
• designs inspired by music
• realistic/natural colors in unnatural patterns
• skulls/bones/skeletons
• all realistic/natural colors with a pop of unnatural (like shades of brown with bright blue)
• emo/alt/goth/punk/edgy designs

DISLIKES

• most food-themed designs
• most pastel-only designs (pastel with other colors is ok)
• human hair on feral/anthro characters; the longer, the worse
• easily copied designs (completely natural colors/patterns, flag themed, etc.)
• patterns applied flatly to curved surfaces (not sure if there's a name for this)
• most robotic/mecha/steampunk-like designs
• most images or text on an animal (runes, cave paintings, etc. -- this doesn't apply to accessories)
