Raffling my Designs WITHOUT permission
Just curious, how’d you feel?
Hi hi! Just wanted to make a post about some minor drama, Ataraxia - whom I have never had a problem with before this - has started a raffle on a design I made without permission or even asking.
Now I don’t have a problem with people giving away my designs for free, after all it’s from forum games, but raffling for faves and subs on my design just doesn’t sit right with me.
I will be updating my TOS, making one I guess haha, but I have talked with Ataraxia- I may have entered the raffle out of hurt, but after thinking about it I realized how wrong it felt. So, after talking with them, they did transfer credit but refuse to take it down- their tone is very snobbish and condescending, hence why my last message to them was short and, I do admit, rude.
hopefully this doesn’t happen again, and I don’t seek for anymore drama or anything regarding this. Don’t hate on ataraxia, they do have pleasant art and their redesign of my original is quite nice. I just find this very disrespectful, especially for someone near my age.

If I gave the design away, it doesn't matter. Even though I drew it, it no longer belongs to me. If someone behaves in a certain way you can blacklist them from owning your future designs. But you can't control what someone does with their own characters.

I hope my initial comment didn't come off as too harsh. Just wanted to explain my mindset. And I do sometimes feel that some people are a bit too strict with certain rules. But at the same time I understand why people do have some of the rules they do, since it's true that selling a design under your name and having that design be treated badly could bring a bad reputation. But at the same time, you can't hold an artist to what someone else does with the design. Wishing you the best, I'm not new to TH technically but I'm only recently using it more so it feels like it, lol.
