Just for kicks and giggles because I'm a goofy little person, I wanted to ask what your favorite character design(s) of mine is and why? Just curious to see which of my creations you guys like the most!! If you care at all maybe I can answer questions you want to know about the character too? No lie I just want an excuse to talk about my silly people that I love. I'm playing the birthday card I get to do what I want today 😈

Alright I'll humor you on this one since it's your 21st or whatever... DOESN'T MATTER TAHT I DIDN'T SEE IT UNTIL NOW
- Choosing a favorite MHRP character of yours feels like picking your favorite child, I'm not about to do that. I will not make familial discord over Jai, no sir.
- Alahar is all gold and glowy and spikey and gold and interesting and GOLD. I mean, there's a reason I drew him, I like him.
- Aserium was a design that I looked at and went "Ooo, dang". It was a great way to reaimagine a crap character and flex the ol creativity. It's too bad that you'll probably never do anything with him but I love that he looks like fireworks (and is gold).
- Fiend is pretty neat. I like the color palette and -generally not a real animal but still believable- design. He's your actual first nose ring character, get outta here Seryn.
- Gubble Bum.
- I do have a little soft spot for Inu since I watched you go through the process designing him. I also helped you pick his final color, heh. Sweet face and sweeter dog. Although I will say that I know you can do better now, so get on it lol
- If you hadn't decided to keep Jagger he would me mine. I would have fought you for him. Good thing you listened to me. Bugs are really cool, wasps especially. Teal and yellow are my favorite so OBVIOUSLY I like him. I dunno, he's a cool guy, I'd want to borrow his clothes to feel cool for a day.
- Leon is almost too hot. That's sus. But I give you a pass because Arcanine is my favorite as well.
- Judas and his little friend go hand-in-hand. I didn't want to give you the satisfaction of loving your latest obsession along with you, but I can't deny that I think his design is spot on. Asymmetry and pop of color mingled with classy undergarments and monochromatic tones. Mmmm yes. Great weapon choice and decent backstory. I do like to hear about your progression. Can't believe you've kept his secret from the group for this long. All that said and done, I almost like the lord of irreality better. He's gold and colorful and a little snot. He's unique and his true form is even moreso. I like his early concepts and final design equally. I keep laughing at the parallels we keep seeing in Baldur's Gate 3. Guess that's proof of good concept.
- Munda is a sweetheart. You won me over to team monke. Sometimes I space out and stare at his anatomy on our wall (that doesn't sound weird at all). Good vibes, looking forward to seeing him smoke Ren.
- I sorta always liked Nobody. Or the idea of him, at least. I thought you were gonna do more with his character, so I did a lot of waiting. Kitsune stuff is overdone these days but it was still fresh back then, so I get nostalgic for what I considered your best design of the time.
- Qaziem! Baby! Little son! I love my birds! You better make him perfect! A+
- Xizol is genuinely at the top of my favorites. Something just feels *chef's kiss* about him and I'm completely fazed as to why he doesn't get more attention. He's cool? Don't people see that? Just draw him more, appease me. (Actually wait, draw my characters, that'll definitely appease me. And you definitely have the time for that)
I'm leaving out Ren and Nyra. I don't know what to say about them yet, and they're certainly famous enough with your cult that I don't need to sing any praises for a while lol. There, enjoy my rare praise.

HEHEHEHE YESSSSSSSS JUDAS OF COURSE!!!!! I expected you might say so 😏 NAH SO REAL THOUGH HE'S MY OBSESSION RIGHT NOW HE JUST LIVES IN MY BRAIN CONSTANTLY. GOSH THIS CAMPAIGN HAS ME BY THE THROAT. He's such a different character from what I usually make and he has just become so fascinating to me. Did I expect to have an eldritch horror dark academia psychic man with morally gray issues??? Man its so hard to pick a favorite design, they're all phenomenal! Your passion project alone has so many shapes, sizes, and personalities! Right now I'd say the primal boar dragon is my favorite design, that shape, that vibe, so threatening and spectacular. Even if it's still just a concept, the ideas you've put together are awesome; it helps that I adore boar monsters. I made my own with Raigore afterall. Mundakoda is like up there tho in terms of designs I totally love. Grouchy grandpa man, simply love him!

Oh my gosh that literally means so much to me I tend to get really in my own head about my designs for the project so it's really touching to hear how much people actually enjoy them so far??? AAAA THE BOAR!!! I think that's crazy you love him so much cause I've always been really unsatisfied with his design so far. I can't wait to rework him once I know more about the ancient lore though, cause I know he's going to be a pretty important character. BUT YES YOU'RE SO RIGHT AND RAIGORE IS MY FAVORITE PIGGY EVER YOU KNOW THIS. Boars are literally the coolest.

YES OMG. Ren and Munda's relationship might be my favorite thing ever. They are really important characters for each other's character arcs and UGH it's so good.
They have a really special connection right from the get-go because draconic leaders have nearly gone extinct, with Ren even believing he was the last of his kind since his father's passing (which takes a pretty heavy toll on him in the story). So after Mundakoda lowkey tries to kill them to chase them off his territory and Nyra's crew realizes that Munda is NOT a wild dragon called a 'faceless', they manage to find his home to talk to him. I know there will also be plot reasons for them to help Mundakoda and why they were over there in the first place I just have no clue what that is yet.
They hate each other at first because Ren is in utter disbelief that there's been a dragon king in hiding all these years that hasn't taken responsibility for his ordained position. Ren sees him as a coward and a disgrace, and partially blames him for the events of the Krocean genocide which his mother was a victim of, because if Mundakoda had actually taken his place as king and lead the scattered Tellarian people, there was a chance he could have prevented that. Also at this point in the story, Ren is still struggling with his biased distaste for Tellarians so that was also an underlying issue.
Conversely, Mundakoda is not Ren's biggest fan either. Prior to their arrival, Mundakoda had been trying his hardest to wither away and die peacefully alone in his forest without anyone bothering him. Having a scrappy group of pirates barging in unannounced starting to talk about grand quests and divine responsibility was NOT what he wanted to deal with. He is at a VERY low point when they meet him, completely drained of all hope for life. Not to mention Mundakoda has been living in solitude for YEARS and has grown frightened about the prospect of returning to civilization and his people, so it's needless to say he was really not interested in guests. Also, Mundakoda is an old fart and was alive during the reign of the Demon Emperor Moroyama, so he grew up during the height of Moroyama's brutal conquest which slaughtered millions of Munda's people. Soo.... not exactly a huge fan of the Hisakawa family name.
In short, the backdrop of their meeting is stained with a long history of us vs them. Two ordained leaders of enemy nations, two of which have approached leadership VERY differently. A tired old king that gave up his crown, and a young zealous emperor whose crown was stolen. Dragons of the sea and dragons of the earth have butted heads since ancient times, so it's a very appropriate reflection of that.
ANWAYYY, without spoiling toooooo much, they begrudgingly have to work together and confront their differences for a time. Mundakoda incidentally takes on a mentor role toward Ren and teaches him things Ren never knew about the nature of the dragon blessing. They learn A LOT from each other that challenges what they thought they knew, and walls begin to break down. The boy who lost his father and the man who lost his son... you get an idea of how this goes.

OH MY GOSH BRO Inu is a call back I love that dude. He was my first ever attempt at a serious character design and for that he is SO SPECIAL. I've lowkey been wanting to take another stab at his character design and rework it cause he is so fun but his design is dated for sure.

BRO that means so much to me seriously!!! YES LOBSTER GRANDPA IS CERTIFIED INSANE AND SUPER CREEPY!!! He is so genuinely awful and I love that for him. He's not ever going to be seen in the comics but his influence on the world will definitely be felt, I can't wait.
GOSH YES MUNDAKODA I LOVE HIM SO AGGRESSIVELY HE IS LITERALLY THE BEST. I'm still working on what exactly went down with him, but I am sooooooo bloody excited to write about him because he is just such a fun character. He's literally the kooky old wizard in the woods equivalent and I live for that. He's so important to the plot and world (and a pivotal character in Ren's character arc actually) OUGHHHHHHHH I want to shower him with all my love. He's the best monkey bear man.
