It actually happened.
After 5 years the dA thumbnails on toyhouse are broken. They worked yesterday... I open them to update my comics here daily.
Can you imagine how much work was put into this? About 2000 comic pages in about 300 chapters (counting all comics) ... I honestly don't know what to do. I might just delete the comics on toyhouse because you never know how often this is going to happen yet. I felt too save here I guess. So I can not trust dA thumbnails to last longer than five years. Great.
On the bright side, hardly anyone left comments on toyhouse anyway so it doesn't hurt THAT much. The problem with actually POSTING to other websites instead of using the dA thumbnails is that I don't like to have my contents' "roots" on other places. Devastating.
The chapters were so beautifully organized on toyhouse. I was so proud of how it looked. Updating here was a beautiful project for 5 years. Damn, I feel broken.
I know this is kind of a strange solution, but what I do, is that I have a private Discord server with just me in it, and I put all the images I need to thumbnail there, since those urls seldom break

I did that once but they broke after a while too back then 😩 I did that with a fakemon pokedex project.

Yeah, I noticed yesterday that some of the chapters weren't loading (busy reading through NeoPaneruga to catch up with the other stuff I missed in time for Shadow Souls hehe) but I figured it was my Internet being a bit weird so I hoped it would fix itself later in the day Dx sad that it's a issue with the thumbnails! Is there nowhere else to upload the pages to as a root that you could try? Ik toyhou.se itself has a max file size but maybe you could make a "character" for each part of the comic and upload the pages there and use that as the root? Idk if tha t would work out but just a thought haha

Yeah I thought about that too, but that seemed a bit messy. I ended up "rooting" them on comicfury. They also allow me to see the coding so maybe I can transfer their code over to the toyhouse chapters. Will experiment a bit ^^"

Yeah, there's a way to upload a custom watermark on toyhouse too so you def should be able to add it! :D good luck, I hope it works out :3

DA Thumbnails? Where these image thumbs or from descriptions/ links?
Toyhouse does have a bit of an issue with images breaking unfortunately. It happens all over site. Force regeneration usually does the trick, though I think it regenerates the thumbnails back to the original post.
Sorry to hear you've had some problems ^^; it really sucks when things like this happen.

I use the urls of the comic pages I post to devianart. So they are these extremely long links. dA is too blame there. I guess they're moving data from one server to another or so which causes the urls to change? I don't know, it just is really annoying and I won't go through all chapters to update the urls. I'm just so tried of it 😩

Ahh, I understand now. The thumbnails were linked from Deviantart.
I'm so sorry that happened. It looks like they may have indeed changed something in the urls that messed up the thumbs :( The link doesn't even go to an image anymore. That's a shame. The only other option if you don't want to reset everything back up with the thumbs is possibly uploading the pages into their own gallery on toyhouse (if you haven't already) for people to read that way.

Yes, i thought about that but having it this way on toyhouse seems too messy for me. I ended up loading them to comicfury and if I am lucky, I can use their coding in the toyhouse chapters as well. Lot's of experiements in front of me x,D ahh what a day!
