Howdy! Welcome to Lamiana Stables, the best place in Lucerula — scratch that on Craven — to get yourself a mount!
We've mostly got Jaowls and some Shergan here, but we occasionally can get a Glittergon in when we’re lucky! Be careful now, try not to make any sudden movements. You don't want an angry Jaowl on your hands.
If these big guys are too much for you to handle, you can always go visit my sister Vivian's store, The Pet Pen! She has smaller critters that are easier to deal with. Well, most of the time, anyways.

You find yourself at the edge of the crowd forming around the newcomer, trying to get a better look at them from around everyone else, which isn’t quite working out for you. You hear someone call out behind you, and you turn to see The Polar Bear and the Axolotl calling out to anyone in the crowd, and as you look at them, The Axolotl catches your eye and calls out to you, gesturing at you to come over.
How do you help?

Despite your lack of enthusiasm, The Axolotl gives you a nervous smile as you approach, only for their face to brighten a little more upon recognizing you. "You again!" They say, sounding rather cheerful despite everything, although their tense posture betrays the stress behind their demanor. "Good to see you're doing well despite... Ah, all of this." They make a vague gesture to the rest of room as they speak. The Polar Bear turns as they finish talking to another lyte, and starts approaching the two of you.

"This isn't exactly doing well!!" The addressed Dwarf Mongoose laments, standing near the Axolotl with as little enthusiasm as possible. "Everything's.... Weird. And STUPID! And it keeps getting worse!!!!"
Her face forms a dissatisfied sneer, and between the gap of her mask, she glares at the approaching Polar Bear. "And you!"

A lyte dressed in a glittering red panda mask weaves their way erratically through a few of the tables and chairs lining the ballroom. Looking closer, you realize that they seem to be hopping between the flashes of color you’ve seen begin to pop up as if trying to catch them. They quickly try to reverse whatever magical phenomena that shows up as they approach, but are soon distracted by the next flash of light elsewhere in the crowd.
What do you decide to do?

The Red Panda continues to chase after the colorful flashes as you watch. They spot you staring for a moment, but simply give a polite wave and smile before bounding a little ways away after a flicker of blue that nearly drags another glass to the floor. You get the feeling that you’ll need to do something more direct to catch their attention.

The Red Panda looks up at the interruption as the flash of light they were after disappears. They take a moment to compose themself before feeling presentable enough to speak.
“That’s a great question! I don’t really know,” they say with a slight shrug, clearly trying to appear unbothered. “The magic effects seem small enough to me, at least, so not much danger there. I kinda think that it’s something in a sense rather than just random, you know? Like the little flashes that appear before the magic stuff? I’m just trying to see if I can, well, catch one. To…you know. Help out?” Their voice quavers for a moment, and they fall quiet before continuing.
“Anyways, it’s okay! Not anything crazier than a bunch of animals choosing here to replicate, or everyone suddenly mutating out of nowhere, or being attacked by thin air, or my best friend just disappearing again, or-or-” They cut themself off before they can become too panicked and take a deep breath. “Sorry, I’m getting off track. Yeah. It’s safe enough. Probably.”
