Procreate is hit or miss for me; sometimes it's fantastic and sometimes it's not. The brushes are excellent and often quite realistic, but in my personal experience they're annoying and unpredictable to work with (but that may be because I'm used to using CSP and my drawing tablet, which doesn't support tilt, while my Apple Pencil does). They randomly change thickness or don't follow the stroke I'm trying to make. Very annoying. Also, you basically can't replicate brushes from other programs in it because its brush settings are super detailed and set up a bit weirdly, and other programs' file types are incompatible with it.

The UI is also annoying for me. It's very minimalistic, which looks nice and all, but it means you have to go through 3 or more layers of menus to do things like enable a clipping mask, merge layers or turn on alpha lock. I do those things all the time and it's very tedious for them to take so long. Also, a lot of the buttons are unlabeled or not explained very well, which can make navigating things hard.

It has decent options for effects and the like, especially for an iPad app. It's still not as robust as the things you can do in programs like CSP, and IbisPaint has many more effects which are also controlled by sliders rather than finger movement, meaning you can apply the exact same preset of a chosen effect to several different drawings.

Really, it's probably only annoying if you don't like being slow or aren't used to it. It's worth the money, though. When the brushes behave, it feels pretty natural to use them, and the portability is a huge advantage. Plus, it's a one-time payment and it's not that expensive. If you ever get an iPad, Procreate is probably one of the best options in terms of art apps.

i love procreate! it’s pretty nice, the tools and features help a lot too, I personally don’t use an Apple Pencil (I have but it’s for writing) but you can use one if you like!

I have an ipad- it's quite alright. The battery seems to die kinda quickly but take forever to charge. But I am able to draw in bed, procreate is amazing -been drawing in it alot lately

i love it, i dont have to draw at a chair but i can be laying down, sitting, doing whatever and still draw. procreate is really easy to use and its great for many brushes that other people create. despite its simplicity, its got complex features that can be navigated easily! definitely recommend

I definitely recommend it! It’s a pretty decent program and there’s so many features that your iPad can do! Paired with the Apple Pencil it just feels so natural to draw with!

Ohhhhhh dude, I love it so much. Personally I haven’t ever really drawn on anything else besides a ipad, and I absolutely love it! It’s so amazing to work from your bed, although your back will start to hurt after a while.. 😭

I also dont use a pencil because I like to have the tablet closer to me, so I just use my finger! plus I think pencils make too much noise on the tablet surface for me to want to buy one

ipads are great too because of the quality, and how easy everything is! I love procreate because anyone can use it, it’s sooooo easy and it’s super efficient and high quality! def recommend 🫶🫶
