KONSTRUCTS

  • Konstructs, also known as “vulpine constructs” in magical academia or just “kon” colloquially, are vulpine figurines that are spelled to come to life, to serve their masters as familiars.
  • Generally a little vain and haughty, curious, sly, and mischievous, though not purposely malevolent.
  • They are most commonly made from origami, but they can be made from any material infused with magical energy, including paper, wood, metals, or other precious materials such as ivory.
  • Due to this, Kon have a general dislike for water and fire, though they are charmed to be somewhat resistant to the elements.
  • They generally get along better with other species than among their own, due to their vain natures and consequently the natural competitiveness that arises when they meet one another.

TRAITS = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

  • Kon may take three forms:
    • Their original figurine form: usually not done, due to vulnerability in this shape, though sometimes used to blend into their environments
    • Their vulpine form
    • The form of a humanoid with vulpine ears and tails
  • How much of their markings are shown in humanoid form is up to each Kon’s preference, though they usually take great pride in showing them off. However, their ears and tails are always visible with all markings.
  • All Kon have a unique activating rune that always appears on their back or chest, regardless of the form they take. This is the rune that gives them power and sentience, hence they guard them jealously, but are also just as likely to proudly show the rune off.
    • Special: Some Kon are Shattered: their runes have been damaged but they are able to survive due to magical corruption. Such Kon are dangerous and unstable, and frequently out of control of their masters. For this reason, any damages to a Kon’s rune, however minor, is heavily monitored.
  • Kon eyebrows are shaped like inkdrops.
  • The number of tails they have indicate their level of power - the more tails, the more magical power they have. Each Kon has either three, six, or nine tails.
    • Special: While multiple tails are the Kon’s defining traits, some Kon may exhibit other features, such as horns, wings, fins, etc. Kon usually take pride in these traits that are outside the norm, since they feel it distinguishes them better from other Kon.
  • The flames on the ends of their tails indicate their condition - weak flames mean that the constructs have sustained damage or are running out of power. The flames themselves are neutral in magical alignment.
  • When surprised or afraid, Kon may flash their tails as like a peacock display - their tail patterns have a mild mesmerising quality that puts observers in a brief trance, allowing them to make a quick escape.
  • Once a Kon is destroyed, its unique rune may be reused to summon another Kon. The new Kon will not retain the personality or memories of the previous iteration.
  • Being magical constructs, Kon are genderless by default, but may choose to take on gendered traits and/or identify with a gender.
  • Kon are not able to reproduce.

KON-SPECIFIC TOS = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

  • Kon designs will be usually sold by me in their original figurine form. Rarely, I may design gijinkas for them. Owners are free to design their own gijinkas, as long as it conforms to the design traits of the original figurine form (e.g. traits such as number of tails, markings).
  • The following edits to Kon designs do not need to be approved by me:
    • Gendered traits and gender
    • Body build
  • Edits that will not be allowed:
    • Design of the Kon’s rune
    • Trait changes (e.g. tail rarity), unless purchased
    • Major changes to design, such as significant shifts in colour hues
  • All other Adoptables TOS apply.
