mlp brainworms time

i have two alicorn characters and i didn't really like the idea of them being OP like the princesses in the show so I thought about how it would be cool if there was a rare chance for a foal from a unicorn+pegasus to have both physical traits. so TECHnically an alicorn but since they arent a full hybrid of all 3 races like the princesses are (which I think would require some kind of magic transformation), they arent as powerful.

i DO believe that they have an unusual amt of power that enables them to do... parlor tricks? basically?. I also believe that these hybrids favor one side or another, so for example the more skilled an alicorn is in magic, they probably wont do great in their flight skills. or if vice versa casting spells and doing magic takes a lot of concentration so it may not come as naturally to a unicorn or a hybrid who favors unicorn traits.

this also brings up the question of if there's earth pony equivalents. while I definitely think these would exist it wouldn't ALWAYS come across physically and its be more difficult to detect. A good example of this is Scootaloo and Bulk Biceps. These two ponies could plausibly be pegasus/earth hybrids, but they would be two different experiences. Bulk, because he's more on the muscular side, might find out more easily or it might be more obvious that he inherited earth pony traits because its easier to notice, compared to scootaloo, who just assumes she cant fly. They also have very small wings which I don't think would be a trait on ALL hybrids affected like this but is a trait that can happen, same with unicorn hybrids that could have small horns.
