Examples of edits

Posted 6 years, 10 months ago by u__wo_

Hi! In light of my recent update about changes, thought I should at least make some kind of bulletin of live examples of what I mean when the edits should closely resemble the design.

Here I will designs I own/have owned as an example, along with explanations of the edits.
Please keep in mind some of these changes are for personal characters so I may have added traits that have restrictions. Be sure to check the info of the species in question before going ahead with edits!

__________________________

DESIGN ONE
-Base colors remain relatively the same with the removal of pink blush
-Gold has been tweaked to a slightly duller more sandy color
-Tail has been changed to solid dark blue to match the new dark blue & gold hair

DESIGN TWO
-The overall colors have been given a purple tint
-Dark neck marking was extended while additional lines were added to the white of the chest symbol
-Glove markings were shortened and a gradient from the hair color was added
-Color distribution on the fins remains the same with the exception of a white marking change on the tips
-The biggest change is on the legs where I have taken the glove markings and placed them there, as well as a marking resembling the chest area on the thighs

DESIGN THREE
-Base coat was given a slight red tint
-Are above eyes was darkened, gradient over nose given a hard edge instead
-Colors removed from ear tips, inner ears given a marking matching the chest mark instead
-Diamond placed on hips and chest marking

DESIGN FOUR
-Base coat was brightened and given a slight red tint
-Hair was changed to white, eyes were changed to green
-Accent changed from pink to red
-Flower and drop markings remain the same, but lace markings slightly tweaked + removed from inner ears
-Black distributed more throughout the body and tail, and rose motif carried down the tail
-Green marks removed from upper hip fins

DESIGN FIVE
-Base coat was darkened with a slightly brown tint
-Yellow accent tinted slightly more orange
-Most markings kept intact with finetuning on the symbols of the shoulders/chest area
-Black stripe markings consolidated on arms/legs
-Extra lines and dots borrowed from existing parts of the design were added to the sides, arms, and legs

DESIGN SIX
-Base coat & colors kept the same aside from extremely minor tweaks
-Gold trim, arm and leg markings removed
-Side markings changed from pinstripe to solid blocking
-*Note: A design with so much identity removed has a chance of not being approved, but because of the existing colors and unique aspects of the design left intact, something like this is fine.

If you have a Common Trait Dreamy, is there any way you could upgrade/buy the other rare traits ?

Yes! I occasionally sell rarer traits through bulletins ^^ it'll be a bit before I do another sale but you could watch my bulletins for any updates/sale warnings.

Okay cool! Thanks so much for the reply!

Hiya! This should be fine, though I'd prefer if the markings didn't totally overpower the original marks. Can you DM me the design and if you had any plans in mind specifically? I can let you know more once I know what you have in mind. ^^

Just want to make sure about one tiny thing, if I want to change the hair color, will I send it in?

Only if it's edited on top of my art. ^^ if it's your own or a free base it's fine, if it's art that belongs to someone else just be sure to ask them first.

how does changing traits factor in to this? e.g. changing ear type or number of tail puffs as well as markings (assuming it follows the rule of adding/removing traits within the common/uncommon tiers and/or the rule of downgrading traits to lower rarities)

Changing traits is fine, it won't create issues unless there are quite large changes on the design/colors as well, but I will more than likely ask the colors and markings to be changed rather than the traits.
