hey, i have a small hot take because I'm tired of people scaring me and making me think something happened to them /lh.

in a text-only environment like on toyhouse it's sometimes hard to understand what others mean when they post stuff. that's where tone indicators come, Tone indicators are paralinguistic signifiers used at the ends of statements to help readers fill in the blanks. (lmk if you need a list)

using them incorrectly as a joke or other can really mess up things because it would be impossible to know if you're serious or not when you're joking around and using the "/srs" (serious) indicator as a joke if yk what I mean

 so there's a difference between "/g (genuine)" and "/srs (serious)"

and there's a difference between "important" "urgent" and "emergency"

also, there are types of importance. like is it personal or is it informative? 

don't put emergency or important when begging for money to buy a dreamie you can use urgent because it's just wrong to use important and emergency when it's not

what's important? updates on your travels and inactivity is personal you can list it as important but also list it as personal. other important stuff like maybe spreading awareness about a topic or someone. I've seen people use "important" when selling adopts or hosting a purge and it's not actually important and just for profit so I think that's a bit 😬😬 /lh

what's an emergency? this one's pretty clear, an emergency is when a serious, unexpected, and often dangerous situation requiring immediate action. like when you can't afford rent, surgery, food or any of this very serious life-threatening stuff. an emergency is urgent AND important unlike just urgent it can be less important depending on the context/situation
