RP Comfort Meme + Other RP Info

Posted 6 years, 5 months ago by possumroyalty

Okay, so, in my search for RP, people keep asking me if I have a comfort meme and I keep having to answer "no". Since this seems to be the norm for these times, I decided I might as well finally fill one out-- if only to make things easier for other people. I'll also include some rp examples for good measure.

HERE ARE SOME RP EXAMPLES! You can check this doc out to see what my basic writing style looks like and what to expect from me. I'll update it from time to time whenever I write something that I'm particularly proud of or something that shows off one of my writing styles well!

▶ Key:

     - Yes
    - No
   - Preferred Option
   - No opinion

▶ ROLE PLAY BASICS:

- RP Style

   Lit/Para
  /   Script
I can do script, but will never, ever, ever use it as the main method of RP interaction. Open to silly side-conversations and head canons in script format tho.

- Locations

I am comfortable doing:

  Comment

   Chats

   Notes

   Forum (Toyhouse Worlds)

   Skype

   Google Docs

   Discord
Discord is the easiest for me, because I almost always have it open and servers are super handy for organization. Private worlds here on Toyhouse are just as good tho!

- OOC/Headcanoning/RP Planning Methods

   Skype

   Google Docs

    Discord

    Notes

- Participants

I am comfortable with:

   One on one role plays.

   Anything else

- Post Length

I usually write about:

   One or two sentences.

   One or two paragraphs.

 /    Two to five paragraphs.

   More than five paragraphs.

  /   A few pages worth.
I like to write longer posts, but quality is always put first over quantity.

- I am comfortable role-playing with people who write:

   One or two sentences.

 /   One or two paragraphs.

    Two to five paragraphs.

    More than five paragraphs.

    A few pages worth.
I won't roleplay with people who don't give me at least one GOOD SIZED paragraph to work with. Again: I like longer posts, the most, but quality over quantity is always key. Just give me enough to work with!

- Role-play Requests

I like getting requests from:

Anyone and everyone at any time!

    When I ask for role-plays.

    From friends and acquaintances.

    From friends only.
It's best if you approach me when I have an active "search" up in the forums, but I'll consider everyone who comes along.

- RP Speed

I usually reply:

    Within an hour

  /   Within the same day

    Within the same week

  /   Within the same month

    Longer than a month

  /   At random/variable times
I'm very unpredictable with reply times. I'll always try to aim for same day replies, or at least within the same week, but I'm suuuuuper spacey and if I'm really not feeling an OC or I'm procrastinating or I'm in a very forgetful frame of mind... it might take me awhile. If I don't reply within 3 - 7 days, you are welcome to chase me down and hit me repeatedly with a bat until I get my fingers moving. Remind me often. I will not mind.

- I expect my partner to reply:

    Within an hour

/  /  Within the same day

    Within the same week

    Within the same month

    Longer than a month

    When they are able!
Faster replies are definitely always appreciated, but you reply when you can! I'd be a hypocrite if I told you you had to reply every single day. I'm certainly not capable of that. I'd really like at least one reply a week when possible, but... life happens. We're all adults and some of us even have lives, which obviously come first. I will remind you after one to two weeks, usually.

- Corrections

I am comfortable getting corrections when:

I missed something, I failed to address something, My post isn't long enough, MAJOR TYPOS

Anything Else (Grammar, the laws of physics, writing style, etc.)
I'm going to be honest. Please PLEASE PLEASE do not correct me unless it is something major or related to length. Writing is not my job, roleplaying is not my job, it is not even vaguely related to a career. This is essentially a game. A way to let out our creativity, have FUN, and develop OCs... not a way to make each other feel bad because we forgot how to spell "quintessential" or accidentally used "your" instead "you're". I understand the difference, and I'm sure you do too... but sometimes mistakes happen! Chillax.

▶ ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS:

** Important: Communication is the key to a real life relationship, it shouldn't be abandoned for a fictional one either! Be sure to talk to your partners when considering romance!

- Shipping

I am comfortable shipping my characters:

  Never.

Almost always! (I like to leave the option open, because friendships are fun for sure... but romance opens up a lot of options for growth and development, and can spice up certain plots. Plus... I really do enjoy pairing off my OCs...I don't multi-ship or do AUs, unless a character is specified to be polyamourous tho.)

/   Our character know each other deeply.

Our character know each other deeply, and I know I can trust the role-player.

At the first sign of flirting! (Only for certain OCs)

Only if the role-player and I plan it.

    It depends on the character.

- If you want to ship with my characters

Talk to me about it from the start.

Talk to me about it once our characters know each other.

Talk to me about it once they both have some feelings for each other.

Talk to me about it when they finally decide that want to go beyond hugging.

Again: Always open to shipping. Just make you're not going to ditch me since, again, I don't multi-ship or do AUs. I'd kind of like if you also kept your characters dedicated, but it's fine if you're a multi-shipper! If you want to ship, make sure you're going to stick around awhile.

- Speed

When shipping my characters, I like the romance to happen:

/   Swift as lightening! (Only if its planned and makes sense for the OCs involved)

     Fast, but not super fast.

    Happens in about three months.

Slow and steady wins the race.

    Slugs know what's up!

My relationships know no speed. They happen if they happen.

The speed relationships develop will definitely depend on our OCs chemistry and personalities, as well as how well we as people get along. Some of my OCs fall quickly and easily, while some need a little more time. Some will respond immediately to confessions or being asked out, and some will skirt the issue for days, weeks, or months before addressing the issue. I WANT to ship our OCs, but we gotta get along and they gotta get along, let things develop as they will.

- Smut

When my characters gets intimate, I prefer:

/  To skip the act entirely.

To write the build up, but skip the act.

To write the act only if it is very special, but otherwise skip it.

To write the act all the way through.

I'm... not very good at writing smut, tbh, but we're all adults here and I'll adjust to whaaaaatever my RP partner is most comfortable doing and wants. The more comfortable I am with a person, the more likely I am to be willing to get graphic. Just be patient with me, I've only had one or two RPs ever get far enough to have smut and they all happened years ago.

- Roles during smut

I am fine with:

I will tell you now and get it out of the way. Almost ALL of my OCs are versatile. A few of my OCs are strictly submissive, but the vast majority can and will go either way. I'm not very experienced with naughty stuff tho, so I'm probably not going to be too good at writing either role.

- Romantic Artwork

When it comes to artwork depicting our relationship please:

SHOW ME. POST IT. JUST DO IT.

Draw what you want, commission what you want, just make sure I see it too. I love seeing art of my babies and my friend's babies, even if its on the naughty side. Ask before drawing or commissioning anything too extreme, tho.

▶ DRAMATICS:

** Important: Always be sure to communicate with your partner individually if you think you are about to go outside their comfort zones even just the slightest bit!!

- Violence

When it comes to violent situations, I am comfortable with:

    No violence at all!

/   I'm fine with verbal arguments!

Some violence, like a paper cut, or an accidental elbow to the face.

/    Mild violence, such as punching, kicking, hair pulling.

  /   Violence, such as stabbings.

/   Beyond violence, such as torture and more.

Basically I have no strong feelings either way on violence and action. I'd prefer not to get TOO TERRIBLY graphic, and I'm not super great at writing action sequences... but I'm not adverse to bringing some in. Action is a great way to spice up an RP. Much as I do love pure slice-of-life, day-to-day happenings... that can get a little boring, so we're more than welcome to bring in adventure, action, and even torture if you're... into that I guess.

- If you are going to do something violent, please:

    Don't do it at all.

Talk to me about it first.

/   Surprise me! (Just don't, like, godmod. Punch my OC out of nowhere if you want, but let me decide how they react.)

Just... like... be smart about it? Starting an action sequence out of nowhere is TOTALLY FINE, but be aware of all the basic RP ettiquette.

- Dramatic Artwork

SHOW ME. POST IT. JUST DO IT.

Draw what you want, commission what you want, just make sure I see it too. I love seeing art of my babies and my friend's babies, even if its on the bloody side.

▶ OTHER:

- General Artwork

SHOW ME. POST IT. JUST DO IT.

Draw what you want, commission what you want, just make sure I see it! If you want to draw my oc just out of nowhere, that's fine. I'm aaaaalways happy to get art.
