Yeah LMAO at this point its just a get-rich-quick scheme with art as the skin sigh

oh WOW
these people are wild--

Someone's art I got from an Art Trade YEARS back-- they dont even bother to change the picture name .___.

man, I'd really love to know the point of these . . . are they just for money laundering or something? coz it costs money just to list the imgs (around $100 apparently) and here they are, doing it to hundreds of pics and getting zero bids in return.

They really go for quantity over quality here-- but lets be honest who in their right mind buys random effing animu pictures on the internet, thinking theyll get rich from them

My brother was actually interested in this sort of thing a few months back but the more I see how much of an art thieving shitshow this is, the less interest I have in it
Also that the transactions cost so much power and copyright is so weird-- its like those weird "buy a star" presents-- where u pay hundreds for a card that you own a star--that you can't actually own

Yeah I know what it is. At first it seemed like an investment vehicle with "art" stamped on the front but at this point it just seems like a get-rich-quick scheme, with some ~*~fancy new technology~*~ making it look sparkly and new or something.

Still, the idea behind it is sound- there is no reason people shouldn't be able to collect digital art that they like the same way people collect and display irl art in galleries, esp now that ppl live so much of their lives online. It's just that all this NFT crap isn't about the art at all, so to me its totally meh.

Even so, I am curious to see what happens with blockchain technology as time goes by . . . it'll stop being put to stupid uses like this soon enough.

You pretty much summed it up -- everything I feel about NFTs-- and how it ends at MEH hahaha

Gotta be honest I haven't really dug myself too much into this topic so I can't really even think of a way blockchains would be used outside cryptocurrencies and NFTs

Oh each bit of blockchain is unique, so apparently it'd be very useful as a certificate of authenticity for whatever product is limited edition and could use such a "proof". Nike shoes, handbags, pokemon cards, dog breeding certs . . . hell, it'd even be useful in preventing counterfeit currency. Not in the current form it is now ofc, but the companies and governments themselves could make their own versions of blockchain (without the energy costs - that shit is expensive and they don't need the fake "value" or rarity or whatever, so they'd probs just come up with a simpler way to put out blocks) and use that to proof whatever it is they need to.

Which, while useful, is incredibly boring! No tech bros gonna go anywhere near that LMAO

I'd like the source for this, if you don't mind?

also, if for whatever reason you wanna know my stance regarding art thefts or using my chars, its:

1) I don't really mind

2) I'll show it to all my friends, judge them on their writing/storytelling/drawing/taste/etc and laugh

3) shamelessly steal any art they get (but only if its good!)

so if you want to steal my stuff, either do it privately and I don't care or show me so I can laugh at you!! =DDDDD
