Yes that is fine! Anything that isn't a set closed species you are able to take any kind of different slant on them! Even the lugia base can be edited to make it appear more like a regular dragon!
I just used the term "kenku" for the anthro crow bases because it seemed like an easy way to refer to them but they are for sure just intended to be general anthro creatures, so sorry for the confusion. Thanks for asking and please have fun with them!
