Masquerade Aftermath

The most voted culprit was: The Armadillo (Castor Andromeda)

By the time the clock reaches midnight, the ballroom looks thoroughly destroyed. Most appliances have been knocked down or broken in some way, and large portions of the wall have since crumbled under the weight of various items teleported inside. Any remaining guests crowd the present leaders for answers, a conversation that is soon brought outside once it is made clear that the holes in the wall have rendered any magic blocking the door to be useless.

As what is left of the party exits the ballroom, a stream of multicolored flashes pours from behind, drawing colorful streaks across the sky as they move up and out of view. A few disquieted murmurs start up, but the incessant magical flare-ups seem to have subsided.

(—do they think I brought them here? What— what reason would I— I don’t even have—)

(Castor, relax. This… isn’t great. But we just need to explain what’s going on.)

(Are— are you sure? Wouldn’t that, um, make things— worse?)

(What choice do we have left? We can’t just keep everyone in the dark forever. And like you said, it’d just cause more confusion to ignore it.)

Uh, everyone, I know that tonight has been a… a whole lot. I know that this is um, my field of work, in a sense, and– and you all want an explanation. It’s– uh. Okay.

Well, those flashes of light are, um, sentient, probably. I mean they aren't actually lights, I don't think– it’s–? Nevermind.

But I, um, have never seen them before tonight either, I’m not prepared to– I don't know what they are, really? I have no idea what they want, or– or why– how they got here. I-I mean, I have, uh, theories, but I haven't had any time to um, explore them and— and, uh–

Those of you who came with me and Castor during the Solar Submergence are already aware, and we wished to speak of this in more… professional circumstances.

There's an ancient spring in Zima that’s been sealed off for a long time. Recently, we discovered that the seal is… breaking.

Trailed by a blue haze, a familiar figure stumbles out from the mansion’s wreckage towards the circle of island officials. She looks weak and disoriented, but majorly unharmed. Addison rushes to her side, with Mizu and Ivy close behind to wrap their daughter in a relieved hug.

Are you okay?! What happened?

I… I don’t…

…It was all so misty. n’ there were creatures everywhere…

Oh, sweetheart…

We– we should, uh, get her to Pollux.

Everyone, I'm sorry, but our daughter needs help right now.

You’re going to at least have to finish explaining yourselves sooner rather than later.

Of course. But we have more urgent matters to attend to right now, and clearly, so do you.

Everyone, listen up! The show is over for now, but we will not leave this lying. I suspect those things, whatever they are, aren’t just going to disappear back into hiding.

We will keep you all updated on the reality behind whatever happened tonight. But for now, go home and rest. I rather think most of us have earned that much.

With those words, Hetsu turns to leave, sharply jerking her head for Tora to follow, who sheepishly trails after her as Setchi and Kaze join her from crowd. As they do, the giant Kryg streaks out from the building and settles at Tora's side. Meanwhile, The Dandasku family, Castor, and Addison set off to the hospital, Ivy carrying their daughter in her arms.

As the remaining crowd disperses at last, the disaster of the Masquerade seems to finally be over. But even now, the strange lights still exit the destroyed building, and with everyone walking away with no concrete answers on what happened that night, some can't help but wonder what may be coming next.

Vote Result: Incorrect. Castor Andromeda was not responsible.

Reward Options

You may claim one of these ferroii for each week you participated in the Masquerade! You cannot claim multiple of the same ferrosome. You may apply ferroii from Option 1 to the lyte that participated in the event only! You may apply ferroii from Option 2 to any of your lytes!

Option 1: If you encountered any masks that affected your character with a random trait, you may claim it if you would like! One mask ferrosome counts as one claim, so if you encountered multiple, be sure that you have enough claims open to keep them. If you do not want to claim ferroii gained from the ball, they will be automatically removed from your lyte! (Any ferroii applied from masks is no longer official and is automatically removed unless you directly claim it.)

Option 2: You may also choose from the following prize pool! Each ferrosome counts as one claim here as well. You may choose from both options if you have enough claim slots!
