★ Yusune have the ability to see into the future of others. Fortune, misfortune, any future event of another being. They are unable to see their own futures, at any capacity. Most yusu do not have the ability to choose what information they will see, and they are left to the mercy of their visions.
Visions of death will often leave them shaken - they feel and see these outcomes from the view point of the inquirer. This takes a toll on the body and psyche of the user. This possibility has lead some yusu to stop using their powers all together.

Those most skilled in magic are able to tell more vivid details than average yusune, and can hone in what information they are manifesting. Mastery is not something all yusu are able to attain, and some can end up going mad and "possessed" by their visions. As such, it is best to practice under an experienced sage.

★ Life span: average lifespan of 300 years. some are known to live to 1000. reincarnation is possible, though most do not retain their memories.
Because of their long life spans, most yusune's main priorities lie in obtaining wealth, status, and power. They are extremely vain creatures by nature and are more willing go to extremes to get what they want. Other intelligent creatures tend to regard them as ill omens because most predictions are frightening and so believe they are evil.

★They are not physically strong and typically avoid conflict/combat when possible. Yusu are defenseless when using their foresight as they are not able to use both sets of eyes at once. If their third eye is open their main set are forced closed to keep images of the present and future from merging and presenting a wrong outcome.

Basic Anatomy

★Physical traits: fox-like with elongated ears (usually), third eye, fur with a fog or smoke like quality as it moves farther from the body, still tangible. 3rd eye marking (and colour) will never differ - but the variety of markings on the face/body is unlimited.

★Shape Shifting: They can appear as human, anthro, and feral form at will. Their feral size is about the same as a red fox. Facial markings and general colour palette will follow them in any of their forms.

★Sex and gender are naturally fluid and yusune have both reproductive organs at birth. Which they choose to use and/or present are up to each individual.

ears come in all shapes and sizes (except for humanoid) - some are tiny like hamsters and some are long enough to touch the ground! most commonly, and oldest-recorded, are standard fox shape/size.

all yusune have a 3rd eye in the center of their forehead. when closed, the 3rd eye appears to look like a black diamond. when open, they are always red with yellow sclera.

all yusu also have black markings near their normal set of eyes - designs vary, though a simple V seems to be most commonly seen.

the feet (primarily hind legs in feral form) will never match the skin tone/base colour of the yusune. this colour/marking will extend anywhere from the ankle to mid-thigh. (may be a solid colour, or a set of markings distinct from the base colour/skin)

yusune tails range from tiny bobtails you could hold in your hands (if you could hold smoke) to giga tails so big they can completely engulf a grown adult.

yusu tails directly correlate with their innate magic powers. not to say a bobtail couldn't be a great magic user, but they will likely have to work much harder than their giga-tail peers.

tails will grow, but only in relation to their owner's body getting taller - they do not grow larger with magic experience/skill. (ex; a bobtail will never end up with a medium tail, no matter how much they train)

• (common) "normal eyes" - white sclera and any colour iris.
• (rare) any single non-white coloured sclera
• (super rare) no iris, any coloured sclera (single or dual colour). these are a sure sign of a yusune who has been possessed by their visions.

Starlings

starlings are yusune connected with celestial bodies to the point that they shine like the stars themselves. their visions and power ebb and flow depending on the position of the moon, sun, and stars (and specifically their patron star). although there are other yusune who may have tails which glimmer, starlings can be identified with their shimmering ears/feet and a halo which may be located in various areas though most common above the head.

possessed yusune are ones who have been overcome by their visions. they no longer have control over themselves. they are marked by eyes that glow all one color and do not have irises. they are no longer able to distinguish reality. these yusune tend to live solitary lives as they are considered a danger to themselves and those around them. Due to the disconnect from reality, they are the only yusune found to always have all eyes open at once.

yusune marked with the "all seeing eye" do not receive visions randomly but instead through ritual and, often, sacrifice. because of this, they are able to see with absolute clarity and are not at risk of losing themselves to their visions. these individuals are strong enough to handle the emotional distress of seeing other yusune's futures are are typically revered as gods.
