World Overview

Euphidia is a planet primarily made of clay and bodies of water. The world is extremely colorful and looks slightly artificial. It is filled with a powerful magic, surging through every animated being, rocks, plants, the planets core. The thick, colorful forestry is where you will often find strange little creatures that look like unfinished blobs of clay figurines drawn and moved by magic. The world is large and diverse enough to have many varying cultures of Euphidian dragons and Ribbonauts. Euphidian dragons would be found in the deeper parts of the forestry and bodies of water. The planet does not have any surrounding planets but does have stars in it’s sky, 3 moons, and a sun that is much more distant than our own.

Ribbonauts

Visual / Anatomy

  • Ribbonauts are always humanoid but often have non-human / dragon qualities to them
  • They have no bones or internal organs, they are entirely made of clay and magic
    • This requires them to consume things that are equal to them; clay and magic
  • Temperature is regulated by that same magic, so that they may not melt or freeze from different temperatures

Culture and Society

Ribbonauts have many distinguishing cultures, cities, nations, etc. but are often divided by the “plastic” society and magic users/respecters. A plastic society is one you would consider to be your typical city folk with their silly little 9-5 job. Plastic society relies a lot on pulling resources from the planet and bending it to a new usage, like making plastic, hence the name. This society is often not in touch with the planet’s magic and has a reliance on it’s citizens to keep it moving. They innovate by creating and pulling from the earth and have a similar in-your-face advertisement type of look that we see in a suburban America for example. A society of magic users has a deeper respect for the planets intricate magics and has managed to harness it properly rather than mining it for a specific use. Ribbonauts of these societies are what we’d consider to be mages and sorcerers. They are also more likely to have encountered a Euphidian dragon. Euphidians have a very large spectrum of gender, their gender is often based off of elements, feelings, and adjectives. A Euphidian could say their gender is "the sun" or "very big" and "green" or "having fun". It is more than common for Euphidian to have pronouns that sound like syllables like ae/aers, vi/vem, etc.

Euphidian Dragons

Euphidian dragons are considered elusive and legendary to their humanoid counterparts. This is because of their powerful magic and their packs located deep within bodies of water or forests. Their society is considerably strange, complex, and not well understood by the Ribbonauts who have had an encounter with one. Dragons are extremely powerful and imbued with magic that they do not require to learn. They are born with magics such as invisibility, hypnosis, illusionary magic, etc. etc… They are also incredibly intelligent, so intelligent they can hold more than one conversation at once with their strange speech pattern

Examples of what a euphidian dragons would sound like is here:

It’s a sort of repetitive sound that sounds incredibly humanoid. Their voice can also be instruments. If you were to walk into a large forest / community filled with the dragons it would sound exactly like a melody or a song accompanied by incoherent voices. Somewhat like this: https://youtu.be/ucU3jebSLZo?t=99

Though every dragon has varying skills and powers, they all have two abilities in common; the ability to project their special emotion imbued magic and the ability to become ribbonaut humanoids. Among other dragons this is an act of communication and other dragons are not affected by this magic projection. But any humanoid would be wildly affected if they were to encounter a Euphidian dragon performing this. If in radius, the emotion would overcome any humanoid. For example, if a Euphidian dragon’s emotion was sadness, it’s magic projection would cause any non-dragon to begin weeping uncontrollably until the projection stopped or they left the vicinity. Dragons will sometimes transform themselves into their humanoid Ribbonaut form in order to touch base with other Ribbonauts. Once becoming humanoid, the euphidian will slowly lose touch with their draconic powers and memories of being a dragon. Slowly, they can immerse themselves in Ribbonaut cultures. It is not uncommon for other RIbbonauts to take these transformed dragons into their cultures and teach them how to be more humanoid. A Euphidian can maintain their draconic powers by switching into their dragon form frequently. But a Euphidian can only be a dragon for as long as they have been a ribbonaut + vice versa.

Dragons are known to be unpredictable and sometimes aggressive and volatile. Legends say, that the oldest dragons on the planet would beckon to unsuspecting Ribbonauts to walk into the deep ocean waters and return them to them as dragons. Though, some dragons have made close friends to other RIbbonauts and have assisted them with their magic. Some have even integrated their societies together, working together as one, though this is quite rare.
