General facts that apply to all vampires in our AU.

• New vampires are turned by being nearly drained and then drinking vampire blood.
• They can survive in the sun. They’re definitely very nocturnal but it won't typically be a death consequence if they get some sun beams.. They easily get sun rashes and feel tired all day and the sun is just sO BRIGHT. Healthier vamps will be stronger and more resistant to the effects of the sun so they can go out for a little longer if needed. Vamps that are already weaker or sick won't do great at all, which, could lead to being fatal if they're out long enough. It's not a *POOF* turn to dust in the sunlight, but they'll get worse and if they can't get blood and rest to recover at night...
• Vampires don't necessarily need to sleep in coffins. A lot of ‘em do but I don’t imagine it’s absolutely required, it just makes it a lot easier to have a better, deeper sleep. But as long as they’re in a dark room they should be fine. It really depends on comfort and personal preference, but coffin sleeping was more common a long time ago with the older vamps, and a lot of new modern vamps doing it probably like it for The Aesthetic tbh.
  The more light in the room while they sleep, the more tired they’ll be when they wake up at night! It’s harder for vamps to fall/stay asleep when there’s light. A little is fine, probably not even noticeable, but any more than that and they won’t be waking up feeling 100% refreshed. TOO MUCH sun in the room and they’d probably even wake up feeling sick and lethargic. That’s why coffins can help them sleep anywhere. 
• Turn into bats, but can also potentially have another animal form chosen and preferred by them.
• Can float/levitate/fly a bit. Andre: *hovers slightly off the ground to feel taller*
• Some vampires can do minor mind control charm on humans & weaker vamps. It’s usually not incredibly powerful and is mostly just used to calm people down.  (It can be used while feeding on someone so they don’t notice the bite hurting, or if they’re scared of blood!) Some people abuse the controlling thing and take it too far, though, such as Andre's maker.
• Can get drunk from drinking drunk human blood.
• There are several bars and clubs for vampire crowds. Some specifically made for them, and others, mostly goth nightclubs, who pick up a significant vampire/vamp fucker crowd if you're in the know about them. If you don't know.. Well, there's just a lotta weird kinda kinky goths out there, huh... weird...
