so the moodboards got locked / taken down even though i made sure i properly credited everything. i literally put a link to every single image on all the moodboards and it was SO tedious and painful…. just for it to be locked like what. what do i do
if y’all have dealt with anything like this before please help me :’) i literally dont know what to do. in the message they like linked some site rules and i can’t read them to try and fix the problem bc they’re restricted on my phone for some reason and it won’t let me read it?? also i’ve seen many moodboards that were not properly credited at all and they’re still up like huh?? why me?? pls help?
..i mean i’m not trying to say i’m completely in the right here bc. idrk this is a weird situation and i don’t know how to get my moodboards back up.
so, you have to have the correct photographer listed for every single image, according to site rules. it can’t just be “google” or “pinterest” or anything—you have to make sure you get images from public domain.
also, as mentioned, the site doesnt like “not-characters” trending. when you upload non-characters, change the “listing” dropdown to “unlisted.”
here’s what the rules say, by the way:
“Moodboards or moodboard-making services should not be bought or sold on-site unless you are able to prove that all images used permit commercial use and are being used in compliance with the photographer or artist’s usage permissions.
All moodboards posted on site must provide links back to the source of every individual photograph used. If you have used images from a free stock site for your moodboards, you may provide a single link to the stock site.”

oh thank you very much for that ! this was very helpful! tbh this is so much of a struggle to me that i kinda give up.. like idk i just don’t really want to use stock images / public domain images and it’s not rlly possible for me to find the original photographers :,) ofc i’m not trying to sell or do anything with these moodboards except letting ppl use em for designs which ig is commercial use soo… idk. i did change it to “unlisted” but the other option “visible to..” is locked now :/ so yeah idk what else i could do

I don’t think you can do much, unfortunately— this would just be for the future. But yeah, even though people use random images all the time, its actually illegal due to copyright. Public Domain ensures that there is no copyright limitations or anything illegal, which is definitely important. You can always edit images from those sites though, as long as they are truly Public Domain. I would suggest looking up the different types (like whether or not they can be used commercially) and do some research if you decide you want to make moodboards again. Technically, you aren’t using the commercially (which would be for sale or promotion of sale), but you are most likely using them illegally, because the pictures are probably protected by copyright.
It sucks to see your work taken down, but its also important to consider that was someone else’s work that is being redistributed (illegally).

its not about credit (although pinterest is . not a valid image source lol) . if they get too trending they take them off public listing so they don’t clog the front page

you’re technically supposed to credit the actual photographer or artist which…pinterest reposts very rarely do
i use unsplash and other free image sites for image sources since they fall within the valid sources, but they rarely have as nice images on it
there’s no way around the unlisting, but it shouldn’t actually be taken down—the same thing happened to me, it’s just kept from appearing on the trending page

its probably cause of the listing, you have to change it from the default (public?) to unlisted i think and that keeps it from showing up in like searches or smth,, ik its sillay cause you do want people to find them but i think toyhouse just wants u to like put a link for people to access it instead of having it available to be searched aiwbdjs
