i Don’t have the links to the sources on me, but another thing to take into account is that adoption is absolutely a for-profit industry, and more unwanted babies = more profit. many politicians are backed by corporations and it’s in their best wishes to keep them running. Conservative Christians believe these things are being overturned for so-called “morals” But as always it’s all playing to the favor of the extremely wealthy. If these people were truly pro-life, they would focus more on lawmaking that requires proper sex Ed in schools, laws that protect women in the first place, laws that support women who would keep the kid but don’t have the recourses, and stop with all the other things that restrict afabs. They aren’t pro life. They’re pro-population growth
I was seeing that too!!! A lot of the hubbub and fuss about lowered birth rates is (forgive me for calling out the dogwhistle here) because they want more white people being born. Nevermind the huge numbers of immigrant and POC kids who need a good home. Adoption is also its own form of trauma, and I cannot BELIEVE the section of the proposed draft where they mentioned the 'supply of babies'. That is inhumane and awful.
Yep, to add to ”because they want more white people being born.” Ive also seen some really good videos by women of color about how many afab POC are sterilized without permission and without their knowledge during surgeries and stuff😬and yet white women seeking sterilization are often restricted at every which way by every part of the system
