I don’t participate in anything political but I’ll say this wholeheartedly as someone who believes abortion is necessary:
It’s shit like this that makes me upset to the verge of tears and pisses me off simultaneously. I was born 2004 to parents who didn’t get a child until they gave up. I recall having a conversation with my dad about rxpe and abortion and he told me that abortions are to be considered in cases of rxpe, if it‘ll potentially kill the mother or both, molestion and incest. As for rxpe, my father of all people told me that if someone gets rxped, it is PARTIALLY the VICTIM’S FAULT for being a victim. And that pisses me off because I was 16-17 having that conversation with my father that I go to when I’m having issues. Makes me even more pissed that when I got catcalled that same year, he (and my mother) said it was to be expected for showing skin when I was wanting to be confident with myself for a 16-17 year old.
But hearing this makes me feel scared and like I’m going to either vomit or cry because if they decide to repeal Roe v. Wade, a lot of sick individuals could target people and there wouldn’t be a safe way to help prevent mothers, rxpe victims and women who have ectopic pregnancies. Old men in the law don’t GET to have a damn say in what a woman can or cannot do.
