Getting a team together is always a challenge. I got lucky with friends that fit the exact skillsets needed to start creating visual novels. I highly recommend joining the devtalk discord server, and maybe participating in a game jam for your first project. Not only does this open a lot of opportunities for collaboration, but it also gets more eyes on your project.
