i would name this little guy Ambrosia, she'd be part of my fishimal story(animals with fishtails)

Dessert animals are very rare creatures, and yeah people hunt them basically so they said bye and went into hiding. In Australia, hidden in the outskirts of the Great Barrier Reef there is a kingdom of Dessert Fishimals(very rare)and yeah Ambrosia lives there, she's the princess. The main characters find her and she ends up wanting to go with them (mainly because she relates to Kyle(the protag) he was a prince and didn't want to become the king, she doesn't want to become the queen). So she ends up going with them and when they head back to the kingdom Kyle used to live in and fix everything she ends up becoming friends with Nila, the baker.
