Of course, anyone can be nonbinary, but I mean something not cis coded, something explicitly designed (rather than to be generally inhabited by any gender) as specifically not cis, specifically an experience of gender that doesn't fit the binary. By that I don't mean androgyny, but a sense of queerness with regards to gender. Gender creative, you know? I could link some of my characters that I have commissioned with this in mind, but it's not really about what I think gender creativity looks like, more what that means to designers such as yourself.

Rather than approaching concept as agender until decided by the buyer, I would suggest trying specifically for a gender you don't normally see.

Play with presentation, mix things up. Add makeup, jewelry, a suit, different hair, to designs that would not otherwise have it, undo the norms of gendered clothing,  Things you don't normally see used together, so that the result isn't something you would specifically classify or subconsciously read as a particular gender. Or take a concept that is usually gendered and twist it.

I'm not suggesting androgyny because as you said it's not necessary to show androgyny to be nonbinary, more what I'm suggesting is sort of a build your own breakfast of gender.

Thank you for the numbers!

Of course!! Thank you tons for the explanation, I wanted to be sure I fully understood the request as you intended <3

I have a few characters I've made that are along those kinds of lines, but I tend to keep them because I adore the personality in them LMAO but I have been wanting to make more detailed adopts lately in the way of personality/presentation rather than holding the visual idea above the vibe so I will 100% keep that in mind going forward and lean into it when it feels right for the character!

For the trouble of typing that out to help me understand your exact meaning, I'll give you a bonus entry of # 34!

That sounds amazing! Give me a ping when you do, please. Even if I can't afford them or don't have anything you'd want to trade, I'd just really like to see what you come up with!

Oh, sweet. Thank you so much!!
