Thankfully I've payed for all of them with either DA pts or art - never with money =w=
It's even worse that I never really get to draw most of them so they just collect dust in my folders - though I want to make icons for some of them once I'm done with my school exams next month ^^
technically DA points are worth money buuut yeah that's probably not bad a few days ago I spent 40 bucks on a really fancy design haha
Yeah I never get to draw a lot of my characters either... it's hard to get your motivation going with the stupid thing called depression >.> but I also started buying commissions, so when a character is in use, they'll still get plenty of art!
But it is hard to find a use for all of them I already put some in with my sona as I do want to make a story for her and have some basic ideas, tho nothing much developed yet as I still have to design a character that is essential to even start off- and a few days ago I also started making a little clan world in a folder, so I can hopefully fill it with plenty of characters and stories one day

Oftentimes I just prefer drawing others characters way more than my own =w="" Or I have a phase where I draw a lot, like, really a lot and then I get artblock shshsh
I use the ClanGen server for that lmao Often enough people offer to draw your charas in the Art Chat or you just post your refs and have a slight chance of having them drawn - kinda how most of my fav charas get art xDD
Yeah - even if you love the design and already have a personality and all for them, oftentimes you just don't know where to put them. Use them in a rp? Give them their own little world? Or stick them into another you already have? Haha
I have so many worlds I kinda lose sight xD And I never really flesh them out all that much - I start a bit and leave it hanging, same for the characters. I feel especially bad for characters that I have had for years and that have little to no art and/or story T-T Especially when I actually love them so much.

oh yeah, the ClanGen server, funnily enough I was playing a lot of ClanGen today haha- but I don't really like asking for art without paying for it. I dunno feels a bit scummy to me? It's not, my feelings are just dumb
yeaah, having many worlds definitely gives you more options but I hate not fleshing out a world a lot, I want it to have some story, some meaning, that's why I don't make worlds just nilly-willy xD But I'll try developing the new Warrior Cats world I made! I even thought of making it it's own thing at some point, still similar to Warriors, but disconnected from it, so it's fully mine yk but that's already so much planning again and I'm just never gonna get to it aeugh, I'll definitely try at least haha
