Pets: She has cute little chubby goldfish (I think they’re called fantails or Ryukins but I don’t remember. I do know that I caught one of them in ACNH) her favorite being named Squishy, who is partly melanistic, but she has almost 30 of them in a pond next to where she lives out in the country. She also has a bunch of koi, but she keeps them in a separate, more aesthetic area for fear of them eating her goldfish.

Fun fact: She has a British accent but when speaking certain words, she sounds like she’s from the south.

Backstory: She was born as a godly dragon. She lived with her mother for a while and played with her friend, Ruby, a Rooibos dragon, in the sky, high above the (at the time) mostly destroyed Earth. Once she turned 100 or so (about 16 in dragon years: godly dragons live to be about 500-1000 years old) the world had come a bit back to normal. She and Ruby left the skies to join the (to their surprise) feral and anthro animals in the cities. They tried to turn themselves into humans. Unfortunately, they still had draconic features, since their magic wasn’t nearly strong enough (and never would be) They hid their tails by curling them in to try and fit in, but people just gave them dirty looks. Just exploring was a difficult task: the bigger animals tried to purposely hurt them and were just mean and horrible to them. The little animals looked at them disgustedly. Chai and Ruby ended up going to the roof of a building just to sleep and not be tormented. Chai woke up sick, so Ruby decided to look for medicine. About a few hours later, she returned with a young, charming Rottweiler doctor. He assessed the situation, gave her water, and said that he was going to need supplies. He asked for them both to come along. Ruby started to follow. Chai was feeling a bit better, but didn’t want to walk. Her legs were tired, so she pretended to be sicker. Ruby sighed and said she’d be back soon to help. Then they left. After a long while, Chai started to get worried. She suddenly heard a noise. Ruby was crying out. Chai immediately looked over the edge to see Ruby collapsed on the ground at the bottom. She gasped and went down to help her. Ruby just grimaced at her and said that the Rottweiler lied to her and almost shot her before she got away. She got hit by a rhino and scratches from a couple of big cats but they weren’t around and that she made it. Ruby asked if they could go to a place of medical help because her chest hurt. Chai shook her head no because of the encounter Ruby just had. Chai managed to lift her to the top of the roof, laying her on a mat to cushion her. She didn’t seem to be bleeding so that was a good sign. She handed her water, hoping she would be okay. Then she went to sleep. In the morning, she found that Ruby had died of asphyxiation. Later she found out that one of Ruby’s lungs collapsed and the other had a puncture, allowing blood into the lung, choking her to death. The pathologist said that if Chai had taken her to a hospital, Ruby would have lived.

She lost her best friend for years, a rooibos tea dragon who she loved dearly, thanks to her not trying to save her. And it was all her fault. She didn’t listen to her friend. She let a girl who hadn’t lived long enough to be an adult get her life taken away. All because she didn’t trust people who could help her. Guilt consumed her until she hated herself. She still looks for that Rottweiler who started the whole mess, hoping to avenge Ruby’s death. She has made a few new friends and if they ever get hurt, she immediately tries to help them in any way she can. She always listens and will always do the work. Every week, she visits Ruby’s grave, to bring a cup of Rooibos tea, hibiscus flowers(for references sake, Ruby’s favorite flowers are red hibiscuses), and a piece of woodworking she made for her and give it to the grave. Her arms constantly get hurt doing woodworking and sculpting so she always has bandages on. She also does combat practice to train just in case she finds that Rottweiler again. That’s another reason for the bandages. She doesn’t let anyone tell her that her bandages, horns, or her tail make her different (even if she really hates when people act like that).

Abilities: She can jump pretty high (but jumps much higher if she uses her tail). Her horns can glow and warm up whenever she gets mad, upset, sad, sick, or just about to use her fire. She can manipulate small quantities of fire and can breathe fire really strongly.

Other: She can change herself back to her dragon form and human form at any time. She also keeps a scale from Ruby as a necklace which serves as a reminder of her. She gains a little bit of Ruby’s power through it, allowing her to grow plants faster and have a bit of a toxin in her fire.

Relations: -Ruby (not on th yet but if I get her she will be added to th!)
