As aforementioned, Vepar is a mother-figure to the two. Cirrina and Tucuxi are not related, but are practically siblings with how close they are. They have lived on the beach since forever, and when they met each other they became inseparable. Tucuxi was more closed off at first, but Cirrina got through to him and so now they’re besties!

Then they met Vepar one day on the beach while playing hide n seek, one of their favorite games! She was carrying a bag and stuffing it to the brim with crystals and sand dollars.

They had met several people before, but had never seen someone like Vepar. Tucuxi, normally hesitant of strangers, liked her immediately. Cirrina was more cautious however, considering Vepar looked dangerous at first. But Vepar was just searching the sand quietly.

Eventually she noticed them. At first, she was confused because she had no idea why they were staring at her. But then she figured it was because she was using her ability to move the water away from the sand for her search. She started to retreat into the ocean when they ran up to her. There, she noticed how much she looked like Tucuxi, minus the species part! She greeted the twins and, to be nice, talked to them for a while.

And that’s how their relationship began! Vepar found out that the two could dig really well so with her powers and their digging, they all work together to find crystals and sand dollars to collect/sell! And one year, as a gift for their birthdays, she bought custom-made hats for them! Tucuxi had always talked about how he likes how the fish look, and Cirrina would comment on how cool octopi and squids are! So she got them hats to resemble that! Of course, she only added a bell to Tucuxi’s though because he’s more of a troublemaker than Cirrina.

And they live on the beach still, but have learned to swim underwater for long periods of time to be able to talk to Vepar. She also sometimes moves the water around so that they can spend hours with her and not have to worry about losing oxygen.

She cares for them as if they are her children, in which they pretty much are. And they love her the same! She gave them more purpose in their lives than they had ever before thought, so they thank her for her companionship.

Finally, something I think is a cute idea is that Vepar originally only had one form, the purple-blue look. But after meeting Cirrina, she wanted to connect to her more and not make her feel bad for being more similar to Tucuxi, so she went to other sea creatures and learned how to change her skincolor. So now when she interacts with the kiddos, she likes to change color and have fun with them haha!
