Comments on Vepar All Comments

I wanted to expand a little more on Vepar and the twins so I just decided to make a new comment! Sorry for all the comments haha!

This first part is just gonna be a quick repeat of Vepar’s and the twins’ relationship from the other comments I made because I want to focus more on Vepar herself!

Tucuxi and Cirrina were born on a beach infamous for its siren stories. The beach is their own, and despite not being related, they care for each as siblings. Tuc is more mischievous and can be closed off at first. Rina is more calm, so they get along perfectly.

They were playing one day when they spotted Vepar with a bag, moving the water to catch crystals and sand dollars. Rina was worried since Vepar looks like a siren, but Tuc thought it would be cool to see if the siren’s voice could lure them into the ocean to their deaths, since they’re animals, not humans.

Vepar noticed them almost immediately and instead of singing, she asked them why they were staring. She’s just a Devilman (reference to the stats art hehe)…and that scared the twins even more. She laughed at them and invited them to join her with searching for crystals. They were hesitant but helped anyways. They’re really good at digging so Vepar started to invite them to hang out with her more and more. Eventually, they all grew close and she got them the hats for their birthday. She also learned how to change her skin color to match both twins.

But why is Vepar looking for crystals and sand dollars, you may ask? Well, that’s because she’s a merchant and engineer! She searches the sands of beaches to find valuables humans drop to either sell or turn into weapons for the creatures in the sea. She’s descended from royalty, but because her family didn’t care to protect her people, she stepped away from throne to defy her family. Humans have attempted to hunt sirens and the like for centuries for the crystals in their “hair”. Those crystals possess sirens’ abilities, so if they were to be broken or stolen, a siren would lose their powers…or in same cases, even lose their sanity or fade away. The crystals are made of very hard material, so humans have had trouble getting their hands on one. But as more and more creatures are are being forced to abandon the beaches, humans have gradually begun to take charge.

Which is where Vepar comes in. Though she only has one true power, which is to summon and control water, she also learned how to transfer magic to normal crystals. So she searches for hard crystals that are just right, and restore the magic in them to “sell” to customers. Being a merchant is her disguise. She sells normal things like sand dollars, jewelry, clothing, and the like. But she has a secret service that she recommends to customers so they can get new crystals and become an immensely powerful species against the humans once more!

What about her royal family though? What was wrong with them? Thing is, humans are somewhat in cahoots with the royal family. They have tried to compromise with the royals, and though they don’t agree with what the humans are doing, they don’t care enough to protect their people. The humans have offered them riches, protection, and an enticing deal: if they don’t stop the humans from hunting down sirens, they can either stay in the ocean without harm or scientists will find a way for them to develop proper human forms so that they can pursue anything on land. So the royal family has turned a blind eye to the monstrosity…

P.S. Vepar also pays Tuc and Rina for their work because unlike humans, she actually values her employees. 🙄 /lh

Anyways that’s all! Maybe I’ll think of more, who knows? Thanks for this opportunity, I’ve really been wanting to find an owner kind-of character for Tucuxi and Cirrina for a while! Hopefully I can get Vepar, but I really love what others have come up with so I think Vepar just deserves to go to a good home no matter what!
